Job Title: Sales Development Representative (SDR)

Type: Full-time, Remote

Time zone: 8 AM – 5 PM EST

Salary: 1300 – 1800 USD/Month

Location: Remote – LATAM or South Africa

About the Company

We’re a Tennessee-based, SaaS company (headquartered in Atlanta) providing fund accounting, tax, and compliance software for municipalities and K-12 school districts across the U.S.

Our mission is to help small towns and local governments streamline financial operations and reporting through intuitive, reliable technology — without losing the personal, community-driven touch that defines local government work.

We pride ourselves on long-term relationships with our clients — many of whom have trusted us for decades.

About the Role

We’re looking for a driven, personable, and conversational Sales Development Representative (SDR) who can build lasting relationships with local government and education decision-makers.

This role goes beyond quick cold calling — it’s about developing trust over time. You’ll research municipalities and school districts, connect with key contacts, and identify those who may be open to evaluating new software solutions — even if that’s months or years down the line.

You’ll help manage outreach across multiple U.S. states, ensuring that no opportunity slips through the cracks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own a geographic territory (e.g., Pennsylvania): research and maintain contact lists for all municipalities, boroughs, and school districts within that region.

  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders — such as finance directors, treasurers, IT leaders, tax administrators, and superintendents.

  • Conduct steady, meaningful outreach via phone and email (~100 calls/day, primarily check-ins and introductions).

  • Uncover and document “buying signals” — pain points with current systems, upcoming RFPs, or leadership changes.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records in HubSpot, tracking all communications and notes.

  • Collaborate with leadership to fine-tune messaging and outreach strategy.

  • Participate in occasional product demos and meetings to better understand our platform and customer needs.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in outbound sales, lead generation, or telemarketing (SaaS experience a plus).

  • Native or near-native English fluency, with clear and confident verbal communication.

    • You can hold a natural, friendly conversation with “small-town USA” personalities — approachable, down-to-earth, not overly scripted.

  • Strong writing skills for follow-up emails and CRM notes.

  • Highly organized — able to manage a long, multi-touch sales cycle where deals may take years to mature.

  • Tech-savvy with experience using HubSpot (or similar CRM).

  • Resourceful and curious — comfortable manually researching local contact data when automated sources fall short.

  • A steady, self-motivated professional who values quality conversations over sheer volume.
