Our client is an established, accredited microbiology laboratory providing specialized testing services to manufacturers across the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food and beverage, medical device, personal care, and consumer products industries. The organization helps businesses maintain product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance through specialized microbiological testing services.
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you will serve as the first point of contact for inbound inquiries while proactively building outbound pipeline across targeted manufacturing companies.
Working closely with the Sales Manager and Account Executive, you will qualify inbound opportunities, research prospective accounts, conduct personalized outreach, and schedule qualified meetings for the sales team. This role combines inbound lead management with outbound prospecting and is ideal for someone who enjoys research, consultative outreach, and developing relationships with decision-makers in technical industries.

Respond promptly to inbound inquiries generated through marketing initiatives.
Conduct discovery conversations to understand prospect needs and determine qualification.
Schedule qualified meetings for the Account Executive.
Maintain fast response times while providing a professional and positive prospect experience.
Research target manufacturing companies and identify relevant decision-makers.
Execute personalized prospecting through email, LinkedIn, and phone outreach.
Generate qualified opportunities and contribute consistently to outbound pipeline growth.
Maintain consistent daily prospecting and outreach activity.
Research prospects thoroughly to support relevant and consultative sales conversations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date prospect information within HubSpot.
Document prospect interactions, outreach activities, follow-ups, and lifecycle stages.
Maintain clean and organized prospect data throughout the sales process.
Track activity metrics and provide visibility into outbound and pipeline performance.
Work closely with the Sales Manager and Account Executive to coordinate qualified opportunities.
Ensure prospects receive timely follow-up and transition smoothly through the sales process.
Support a structured and process-oriented approach to both inbound and outbound lead generation.
1–3 years of experience as an SDR, BDR, or in a similar sales development role.
Hands-on experience conducting outbound prospecting through phone, email, and LinkedIn.
Experience qualifying prospects and scheduling meetings for Account Executives or sales teams.
Experience selling into manufacturing, life sciences, laboratory services, healthcare, or other technical industries is preferred.
Experience building targeted outbound prospect lists is a plus.
Demonstrates excellent written communication skills and can create clear, professional, and personalized prospecting messages.
Communicates confidently over the phone and is comfortable conducting discovery and qualification conversations with prospective customers.
Has strong research skills and can identify relevant target accounts, decision-makers, and information needed to personalize outreach.
Has experience using HubSpot and sales engagement platforms such as Apollo, Outreach, Salesloft, or similar tools to manage prospecting activities and pipeline information.
Is comfortable using LinkedIn for prospect research and outreach, with LinkedIn Sales Navigator experience considered a plus.
Maintains accurate CRM records and demonstrates strong attention to detail when tracking prospect interactions, follow-ups, and lifecycle stages.
Can effectively balance inbound lead qualification with consistent outbound prospecting activities.
Highly organized and capable of maintaining consistent follow-through.
Curious and motivated to learn about technical industries and customer needs.
Persistent and comfortable with outbound prospecting without relying on overly aggressive sales tactics.
Coachable and receptive to feedback from sales leadership.
Process-oriented and dependable when managing recurring sales activities.
Comfortable balancing multiple inbound and outbound priorities.
Inbound inquiries receive timely responses within established service-level expectations.
Qualified meetings are consistently generated for the Account Executive.
A healthy outbound pipeline is developed and maintained through consistent prospecting.
HubSpot records remain accurate, complete, and organized.
Prospecting activities are consistent and aligned with target accounts and decision-makers.
The Sales Development Representative becomes a trusted partner to the Account Executive and Sales Manager within the first 90 days.
