As part of this collaborative and customer-focused team, you will work closely with colleagues across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Open Access, and Publishing to drive renewals, strengthen client relationships, and identify growth opportunities. You'll contribute to meaningful conversations around the future of scholarly communication, including Open Access publishing models and transformative agreements as appropriate, while helping libraries meet the needs of their researchers, faculty, and students.

Role Summary:

As a Journal Sales Partner, this individual supports the management of Sage’s Premier Active Renewals portfolio in North America, contributing to consistent year-over-year revenue uplift across annual journal package renewals. The role focuses on retaining accounts, upgrading customers to current journal package offerings, and helping to identify opportunities for growth. Working with guidance from senior colleagues while building toward greater independence, this position ensures responsive communication, operational efficiency, and reliable customer engagement.

Your New Role:

· Support the full cycle of Premier Active Renewals in North America, working towards a maximum uplift year over year across journal package renewals.

· Upgrade accounts to reflect the most current journal package list, ensuring alignment with product offerings and customer needs.

· Respond to internal and external requests on the same business day, maintaining a high standard of responsiveness and reliability.

· Provide clear status updates and summaries for management as needed to support visibility and decision-making.

· Participate in Open Access conversations, helping customers understand OA frameworks and supporting the organization’s transition to new publishing models.

· Assist with account activity involving Mary Ann Liebert titles as needed, collaborating cross-functionally to support revenue and relationship goals.

· Contribute to workflow improvements, identifying efficiencies that help streamline operations and support team performance.

· Maintain thorough and up-to-date documentation to track the status of each renewal effort throughout the year, supporting transparency and planning.

· Keep the CRM system consistently up to date, accurately reflecting customer interactions, renewal status, and pipeline activity.

· Adopt and apply new CRM features and enhancements as they are rolled out, contributing to team-wide protocols in sales technology.

Can you be our new Journals Sales Partner?

· At least 3 years of relevant experience in sales, customer renewals, or account management, ideally within scholarly publishing.

· Exposure to journal renewals and an interest in finding opportunities for account upgrades and growth.

· Familiarity with CRM tools, particularly Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics CRM; able to maintain accurate records and support sales goals.

· Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word), with the ability to work with data sets and reporting tools.

· Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.

· Ability to work with a degree of independence while contributing to a team-focused, goal-oriented environment.

· Familiarity with Open Access publishing and trends in academic library purchasing preferred.
