Enterprise Sales Representative, Private Markets
If you are a proven quota-carrying enterprise seller who wants to own sophisticated, long-cycle opportunities with private equity firms, alternative asset managers, CFO organizations, and other senior financial buyers, this is a chance to join a global financial-services platform while its U.S. commercial organization is still expanding and entrepreneurial.
Opportunity
A confidential global financial-services firm is hiring three Enterprise Sales Representatives for its growing U.S. team. This is a hands-on, quota-carrying role for someone who can build pipeline, lead executive discovery, manage complex stakeholder groups, and quarterback internal deal teams across a large global organization.
The U.S. business development function is growing quickly, which means the right seller will have meaningful room to take ownership. You will not be stepping into a purely mature, scripted sales motion. You will be expected to learn fast, create structure where needed, revive stalled opportunities, and progressively absorb more responsibility from senior sales leadership.
This role is best for someone who genuinely wants to remain in enterprise sales: someone who understands commercial pressure, enjoys carrying a number, and can stay motivated through high-value sales cycles that may extend up to 18 months.
Location, Travel, and Ramp
- U.S.-based remote role, with strong preference for candidates in Chicago, New York, or Miami
- New hires should expect to spend approximately two weeks per month during the first three months for onboarding, shadowing, and live deal exposure
- Ongoing travel is expected to be approximately 12%–15%, generally about once per month
Compensation
The expected base salary range is USD 160,000-170,000 Yearly + Commission.
What You Will Own
- Own a portfolio of strategic private-markets and financial-services prospects from account strategy through close
- Build research-led account plans based on fund activity, market signals, operating needs, buyer priorities, and commercial timing
- Lead discovery and solution conversations with CFOs, fund executives, operating partners, and other senior decision-makers
- Manage complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles that may extend up to 18 months
- Create momentum in long-cycle opportunities, including reviving stalled deals and keeping internal and external stakeholders aligned
- Quarterback internal specialists across product, operations, legal, finance, technology, and global service teams
- Identify when the right subject-matter expert, regional partner, or internal leader can materially improve the probability of winning
- Negotiate sophisticated, high-value commercial arrangements with senior buyers
- Contribute to other sellers’ opportunities as a collaborative deal-team member during ramp
- Maintain accurate CRM activity, pipeline updates, follow-up, and account plans using automated sales technology and Microsoft Copilot-enabled workflows
- Represent the firm in client meetings, industry events, and periodic travel
What Success Looks Like
First 90 Days
- Build working fluency in the firm’s services, operating model, buyer landscape, sales process, and internal stakeholder network
- Shadow live deal calls and proactively seek opportunities to support experienced sellers
- Build focused target-account plans instead of relying on high-volume outbound activity
- Establish credibility with sales leadership, internal specialists, and cross-functional partners
- Demonstrate strong CRM discipline, follow-up quality, and learning velocity
First 6–12 Months
- Independently lead discovery and early-stage opportunity development
- Become a trusted contributor on complex deal teams
- Build qualified pipeline across a concentrated set of high-value accounts
- Keep deals moving despite ambiguity, imperfect processes, or incomplete information
- Earn confidence from leadership to carry more complex client conversations without direct supervision
12–24 Months
- Own and quarterback sophisticated opportunities from strategy through negotiation and close
- Build a repeatable network of internal specialists and external market relationships
- Contribute meaningful new revenue with private-markets and financial-services clients
- Reduce the level of direct deal intervention required from senior sales leadership
What Makes You a Strong Fit
- Three or more years of true client-facing, quota-carrying B2B sales experience
- A documented history of meeting or exceeding quota, ideally with top-quartile performance relative to peers
- Experience personally leading discovery, executive conversations, stakeholder management, negotiation, and close — or clear evidence that you are ready to become the primary commercial owner
- Experience selling to or working with sophisticated financial buyers such as CFOs, fund executives, private equity firms, alternative asset managers, operating partners, or similar enterprise stakeholders
- Comfort with long, complex sales cycles where progress depends on persistence, judgment, and internal coordination
- Ability to operate independently in a large, fast-moving organization where every process may not be perfectly defined
- Strong executive presence over video and in person
- A collaborative sales style: competitive about winning the revenue, but willing to share credit and involve the right experts to improve the outcome
- High learning velocity and openness to adopting a different sales methodology
- Practical fluency with CRM systems, sales automation, AI-enabled productivity tools, and modern account-planning workflows
Nice-to-Haves and Transferable Backgrounds
Relevant backgrounds may include enterprise sales, business development, or strategic account roles in:
- Private equity, private markets, alternative assets, or fund services
- Financial technology, data rooms, transaction services, or private-markets data
- Fund administration, accounting systems, general-ledger technology, financial reporting, or SaaS financial systems
- Professional services or enterprise services sold to CFOs, finance teams, fund executives, or other senior financial decision-makers
- Complex global organizations where sellers partner with subject-matter experts across multiple functions and regions
- Earlier-stage or resource-constrained commercial environments where you had to create structure, build pipeline, and learn quickly without a fully built playbook
Experience at private-markets service providers may be especially relevant, but brand names are less important than clear evidence of quota ownership, complex deal leadership, and buyer credibility.
This May Not Be the Right Fit If
- Your background is primarily account farming, renewals, client support, consulting, or research without true sales ownership
- You have not personally carried a quota or cannot speak clearly about quota attainment and performance
- You prefer strategic advisory, relationship management, or operations work over a closing role
- You need a fully mature sales process, extensive structure, or constant managerial intervention to succeed
- You are most comfortable with short-cycle, transactional sales and have limited evidence of transferable enterprise complexity
- You prefer to protect individual credit rather than assemble the best internal team to win the deal
Why This Role Is Different
This is not a generic enterprise sales seat. You will be selling into sophisticated financial-services environments where buyers are senior, the problems are complex, and the deal team may span product, operations, legal, finance, technology, and global service experts. The strongest performers will combine executive presence with curiosity, commercial ownership with collaboration, and resilience with a practical sense of humor.
If you want a role where you can build high-value relationships, own meaningful commercial outcomes, and grow with a U.S. sales organization backed by substantial global scale, this is the kind of opportunity worth exploring.
