The client is a European acquiring and payment processing provider supporting merchants across e-commerce, fintech, PSP, and digital service sectors. The business helps merchants manage card acquiring, onboarding, pricing, settlement, risk, compliance, and payment method coverage. Austria is a priority market due to the local payment roadmap, while Germany remains an important secondary focus. This role offers strong ownership for someone who understands DACH payments and can build new business independently.
As Senior Sales / Business Development Manager - Austria & Germany, you will sell acquiring services to merchants and payment ecosystem partners across German-speaking markets. You will focus on new business, outbound pipeline, local payment method coverage, and merchant acquisition. The role requires strong German and English communication, commercial discipline, and the ability to work independently across Austria and Germany.
Build outbound pipeline across Austria and Germany, with Austria as the primary focus;
Sell acquiring and payment processing services to low-risk merchants and digital businesses;
Identify merchant requirements around card acquiring, EPS, Wero, settlement, pricing, risk, onboarding, and compliance;
Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through negotiation and closing;
Develop relationships with merchants, PSPs, e-commerce platforms, and local payment partners;
Maintain accurate CRM records, sales activity, deal stages, forecasts, and next steps;
Share market feedback on local payment methods, competitor positioning, and merchant expectations;
Coordinate with risk, compliance, onboarding, and product teams to support conversion;
Build a credible local network that supports long-term DACH market growth.
3+ years of B2B sales or business development experience;
Experience in payments, acquiring, PSP, fintech, e-commerce, or merchant services;
Proven new business development experience in the DACH region;
Professional fluency in German and English;
Understanding of card acquiring, local payment methods, merchant onboarding, settlement, pricing, risk, and compliance basics;
Ability to generate outbound pipeline independently;
Strong CRM discipline, reporting structure, and pipeline ownership;
Confidence working with merchants and partners without heavy supervision.
Knowledge of EPS, Wero, or other local DACH payment methods;
Existing merchant, PSP, platform, or payment partner network in Austria or Germany;
Experience selling cross-border acquiring services;
Track record closing mid-market merchant deals.
Local market knowledge and consultative sales approach;
Strong qualification and pipeline control;
Ability to explain payment products clearly to business stakeholders;
Structured follow-up and reliable CRM habits;
Commercial independence and practical problem-solving.
Remote or hybrid setup across Austria or Germany;
