Senior Analyst, Performance Analytics & Insights will support the Director in building a business-facing reporting function within the Global Commercial Operations team. This role will provide key analytical support across various functions including Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Finance, Services, and Product. The analyst will transform from providing basic reporting functionality to delivering strategic analytics that underpin Varicent’s ability to define, monitor, and interpret performance vs key indicators.

What You'll Do:

KPI Development and Alignment:

  • Assist in defining key performance indicators (KPIs) in collaboration with GTM leaders.
  • Maintain an active repository of metric definitions and ensure alignment on monitoring attributes.

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Build and maintain core data models used for reporting
  • Develop and maintain analytics dashboards and tools.
  • Prioritize and fulfill new report requests to deliver critical insights promptly.
  • Partner with data engineering to ensure data models provide needed insights.
  • Enforce data governance policies ensuring data reliability and accuracy.

Performance Management: 

  • Monitor KPIs on a weekly basis and identify areas of underperformance.
  • Support GTM leaders in constructing action plans to enhance performance.
  • Generate and distribute weekly executive summaries on key metrics.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with finance, marketing, sales, services, product, and customer success teams.
  • Integrate GTM data into various business processes and support cross-functional data initiatives.

Strategic Planning and Insights: 

  • Assist in providing insights and recommendations for annual and quarterly GTM initiatives.
  • Supply data analysis takeaways for performance management cadences.

 Ad-hoc Requests:

  • Participate in special projects to meet departmental objectives

 GTM Tool/Technology Adoption:

  • Aid in evaluating and adopting new data tools and technologies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and testing within the analytics function.

What You'll Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in analytics, reporting, revenue operations, sales operations, or a related field.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and provide actionable insights from complex data.
  • Proficient in CRM and marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of data modelling and SQL
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Sigma).

Success Factors:

1-3 Months 

  • Establish strong working relationships with GTM leaders, finance, marketing, sales, services, product, and customer success teams.
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of Varicent's products, key performance indicators (KPIs), and the underlying data structures.
  • Begin the design and iteration of foundational dashboards
  • Participate in setting and enforcing initial data governance policies to ensure data reliability and accuracy

4-6 Months 

  • Publish performance assessment reports for key KPIs.
  • Participate in regular cadence for performance reviews with leadership.
  • Implementing advanced features and more granular data insights
  • Own data governance for your departments

7 Months and Beyond

  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to leadership
  • Manage a cycle of continuous improvement for the analytics function—including iterations on dashboards, reporting mechanisms, and data governance
  • Develop and prioritize action plans for underperforming areas
