The Sales Development Representative is responsible for identifying and qualifying leads within mid-market IT companies to book meetings for Account Managers. They will also document interactions in the CRM and provide market insights to the marketing and product teams.
About the role:
A product-based German IT startup is looking for a Sales Development Representative with excellent spoken and written German communication skills to join its growing team.
Defining Resource Lifecycle Management, think of an HR system that manages employees from onboarding to retirement – the platform does the same for everything they work with. From the day a new employee's equipment is requested and ordered, through repairs, upgrades, and allocations, to the day it is returned, reassigned, or retired.
One platform that brings procurement, asset management, and IT operations together – instead of broken handoffs between a patchwork of tools
As a Sales Development Representative, you are the first voice to CIOs, Heads of IT, and service desk leads at German mid-market companies with around 1,000 employees. You find the right companies, understand their problem, and book a qualified meeting – from there, an Account Manager takes over.
What you'll do:
• Find the right targets: Identify fitting mid-market companies and the right contacts – CIO, Head of IT, service desk lead
• Reach out: The phone is your main channel, backed by LinkedIn and email. You also follow up warm contacts who engaged with our LinkedIn content or website.
• Qualify: Understand how the customer's IT is organised, where it hurts (Excel lists, asset chaos, broken handoffs between IT, procurement and HR) and which solution angle fits.
• Book and hand over: Set the meeting and hand over to the Account Manager with a clear summary of the situation, problem, and angle.
• Document: Keep conversations and pipeline clean in the CRM.
• Bring back market insight: Share what you hear on the phone with Marketing and Product.
• Optional: Run first short product demos yourself .
What you bring:
• C2 level German and good English
• 2+ years in B2B sales development (SDR/BDR, inside sales) – ideally in software, IT services or at a systems integrator
• You know how IT departments in German mid-market companies are organised: roles, service desk, asset management, procurement and the tools they use. A background in IT support or at a Systemhaus is just as welcome
• You're outgoing and love the phone – lots of it. Cold calling doesn't scare you
• A credible, professional presence: Heads of IT take you seriously because you listen, ask the right questions, and understand their world
• Staying power: you're still motivated after the 50th "no", and you see prospecting as your thing for the long run, not just a stepping stone.
• A structured way of working and real CRM discipline.
What this role is not:
This is not a call-centre job reading from a script – every conversation is with a senior IT decision-maker, and you need to hold your own. It is also not a closing role: once the meeting is booked, the Account Manager owns the deal.
Envoriment:
• Real startup: real impact, short decision paths, no politics.
• 100% remote
• Flexible hours and top hardware of your choice
• Competitive salary – we talk about it openly and fairly
• Regular virtual and in-person team events .
