AI Summary

The Carrier Sourcing Representative is responsible for building and maintaining a bench of vetted carriers to secure consistent capacity for target lanes. This role involves high-volume outbound calling, negotiating rates, and ensuring all carrier data is accurately logged in the CRM.

About the job

ARS Logistics (Authorized Agent of Trinity Logistics) is a family owned and operated Third Party Logistics company with 20+ years of history. We are proud of what we have built through strong and lasting relationships with our customers and team members.

ARS moves freight across all modes for our customers — Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, Drayage, Ocean and Air. Our customers count on us for consistent capacity on the lanes they ship every week, not just whoever happens to be posted on a load board that morning. We are hiring a dedicated Carrier Sourcing Representative whose whole job is building that capacity: calling carriers, learning their lanes and equipment, and lining up committed trucks on our regular and hard-to-cover lanes weeks before the freight moves.

This is an outbound, phone-first role. You will own a set of target lanes, build a bench of vetted carriers on each one, and hand our operations and account teams capacity they can sell and book — so we cover on time, buy at or below market, and rely less on the spot board. Success is measured in carriers added, lanes with committed capacity, and loads covered by relationship carriers.

Start date: ASAP

Why you’ll like working here

  • A focused job — sourcing and relationships, not dispatch and paperwork.
  • Results you can see — lanes that used to be a daily scramble become routine because of the carriers you found.
  • Collaborative team — you work side by side with our operations, customer service and sales teams, who value open communication and follow-through.
  • Structured upward mobility — a clear growth path as the carrier team expands (senior sourcing, carrier team lead).

What you’ll do

  • Make high-volume outbound calls and emails to carriers, dispatchers and owner-operators to source capacity on assigned lanes — regular weekly lanes, capacity-constrained lanes, and new lanes from customer bids.
  • Build and maintain a carrier bench for every target lane: preferred lanes, equipment, trucks per week, rate expectations and contacts, kept current in our CRM / TMS.
  • Secure capacity and rate commitments weeks ahead, then hand them to operations and account managers so the capacity can be presold to customers and booked on the right dates.
  • Find capacity that never reaches a load board — asset carriers’ headhaul and backhaul lanes, small fleets with consistent routes, and dedicated or recurring-lane programs.
  • Vet every new carrier before it is offered freight: operating authority, insurance, safety record, and double-brokering or identity-fraud red flags, using our carrier onboarding and monitoring tools.
  • Collect carrier rate feedback for customer quotes and RFPs / RFQs so our pricing reflects real cost.
  • Keep relationships warm — regular check-ins, service feedback, and fast resolution of load or payment questions with our operations and accounting teams.
  • Report weekly on lanes covered, carriers added, committed capacity and cost versus market.

What you need to bring

  • 1+ year (2+ preferred) in carrier sales, capacity sourcing or carrier development at a U.S. freight brokerage / 3PL — truckload (dry van, reefer, flatbed).
  • Proven outbound phone volume: comfortable making 60+ carrier calls a day and negotiating with U.S. dispatchers and owner-operators.
  • Working knowledge of DAT and / or Truckstop load boards and rate data, and lane terminology (headhaul, backhaul, deadhead, all-in, linehaul vs. fuel).
  • Understanding of carrier compliance — MC / DOT authority, certificates of insurance, safety ratings — and common double-brokering and identity-fraud schemes.
  • Clear, confident spoken English and professional written English.
  • Disciplined record keeping: every call, carrier and commitment logged in a CRM / TMS the same day.
  • Operational in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Reliable remote setup: backup power, backup internet, backup computer, 2 to 3 screens, and a noise-cancelling headset.
  • Availability during core U.S. Eastern business hours (see engagement details).

Preference given to

  • Experience building dedicated or recurring-lane carrier programs.
  • Carrier onboarding / monitoring tools such as Highway, RMIS, Carrier Assure or MyCarrierPackets.
  • Dialpad or similar VoIP phone systems; Zoho or another CRM.
  • Prior experience supporting a Trinity Logistics agency or another agent-model brokerage.
  • Reefer, flatbed, drayage or cross-border (Mexico) carrier networks; Spanish.

Engagement details

  • Engagement type: Remote independent contractor, Philippines-based.
  • Core availability: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM U.S. Eastern (1-hour lunch); final schedule may be adjusted based on team coverage. Occasional after-hours carrier calls (infrequent).
  • Compensation: $940 – $1,150 USD per month, based on experience, plus a performance incentive tied to committed capacity and loads covered, with a structured growth plan.
  • Time off: 15 paid business days per calendar year after 90 days, per contract structure.
  • Reports to: Operations Manager.
  • Travel: None.

How to apply

Apply with your resume and answer the screening questions on the application. The screening questions include a link to a 60-second voice recording (Google Drive, Vocaroo or similar) of you introducing yourself to a U.S. carrier dispatcher and asking about their lanes. Applications without the recording will not be reviewed.

We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity employer. Qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, sex, disability, veteran or other protected status.
