CPI-HR, an Alera Group Company is seeking an Account Manager to join our Employee Benefits team, located in the Beachwood/Highland Hills, Ohio area - Hybrid Schedule

The Account Manager, Employee Benefits works closely with the employee benefits team and is responsible for retaining and growing employee benefit clients and developing them into client champions. The account manager analyzes and consults business owners on employee benefits strategies, including health insurance, ancillary insurance, consumer-driven health plans, compliance, wellness, consumerism services, benefits administration, and human resource services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Keeping and growing an assigned book of clients by creating client champions through service delivery, expertise, and personal relationship abilities.
  • Manage the client onboarding and renewal process from a strategic and analytical perspective, focusing on timeliness and strategy.
  • Meeting with clients in-person or virtually and delivering products, systems, and services in line with the client's needs and benefits strategies along with the local insurance market and Alera client service model.
  • Maintaining strong industry knowledge of all products and standards and remaining current on vendor/carrier plans, programs, industry trends, and legislation.
  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships by collaborating with coworkers and insurance
  • Providing proactive client service experiences through valuable perspectives on the insurance market, ongoing advice, and consultation, helping clients navigate alternatives and avoid potential landmines, and educating clients on new strategies and outcomes.
  • Managing a client calendar and working closely with Producers and other internal departments to execute the service strategy for each client.
  • Responsible for all client deliverables, including consulting advice, strategic meetings, data analytics, customer service, program implementation, communication and educational programs and materials, compliance, and human resources service.
  • Owning the request for proposal (RFP) process and deliverable, comparing carrier proposals, and providing a summary of programs and options designed to support clients in making decisions about insurance programs.
  • Leading negotiations with suppliers, insurance companies, and clients.
  • Responding to client inquiries appropriately and professionally via multiple communication channels, such as phone, email, and virtual and in-person meetings.
  • Providing excellent client service and support (including, but not limited to, claims, billing, enrollment, benefit inquiries, and elevated service issues to ensure resolution).
  • Accurately maintaining client files, including clear documentation of account details, policy information, activities, attachments, and correspondence.
  • Assisting the management team in executing Alera Group's Strategic Business Plan.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related disciplines or equivalent experience.
  • Holds or is willing to obtain an Ohio Health and Welfare Insurance License and complete continuing education requirements as needed.
  • Ability to write reports, proposals, correspondence, technical and employee communication.
  • Ability to effectively present information to employees, top management, customers, clients, public groups, and boards of directors. Strong proficiency with solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure against time deadlines.
