Please note that we are recruiting for two positions: one role will be responsible for the Northern Italy territory, while the other will oversee the Southern Italy territory.

As a Valeda Territory Manager supporting our Surgical Medical Retina business in Italy, you will be trusted to expand the adoption of Alcon’s innovative Valeda treatment platform by driving new account acquisition and accelerating treatment utilization across installed accounts. You will partner with retina specialists, ophthalmology clinics, and cross-functional teams to improve patient access and deliver sustainable business growth. In this role, a typical day will include:

• Identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities across priority retina clinics, ophthalmology groups, and strategic accounts to expand the installed base of the Valeda platform.
• Leading the complete customer engagement journey from prospecting and value-based selling through business case development, negotiation, contracting, installation, and activation.
• Developing and executing account activation plans to accelerate clinic onboarding, reduce time to first treatment, increase patient flow, and drive ongoing treatment utilization.
• Collaborating with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Technical Service, and Commercial Operations teams to deliver an outstanding customer experience and support local educational and demand-generation initiatives.
• Utilizing CRM tools, sales analytics, account performance data, and territory insights to manage pipeline health, forecast business performance, and achieve device placement, treatment utilization, and revenue objectives.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Marketing, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of successful experience in medical device sales, healthcare business development, or a similar commercial role.
• Proven ability to prospect, build strategic customer relationships, develop value-based business cases, negotiate successfully, and close new business opportunities.
• Strong experience engaging with physicians, clinic owners, practice managers, and other healthcare decision-makers.
• Demonstrated ability to combine commercial selling skills with account activation, project management, and customer success initiatives.
• Strong analytical and business acumen with experience using CRM systems, pipeline management tools, and sales performance metrics.
• Fluent Italian and English language skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within a cross-functional and entrepreneurial environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in ophthalmology, retina, diagnostics, therapeutic devices, or specialty medical technology.
• Experience launching innovative healthcare technologies or developing emerging markets.
• Understanding of healthcare economics, ROI-based selling, and customer value discussions.
• Experience supporting patient pathway optimization, practice development, and local demand-generation activities.

This role can be based in Milan or Rome and requires extensive travel across Italy. Travel is expected to account for approximately 60-70% of working time to support customer engagement, business development, account activation, congress participation, and strategic growth initiatives.

Pay Frequency

Total remuneration consists of the starting pay, plus applicable variable compensation (including bonus) and country-specific subsidized benefits.
Bonus amounts, where applicable, are determined based on factors such as individual performance, job level, and company financial results.
