Job Description:

Job Summary 

The Supervisor, Sales Performance & Policy (SP&P) Governance is responsible for overseeing the administration of the Sales Performance & Policy appeals process, ensuring consistent application of Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) policies, business rules, and governance standards. This role leads the review and resolution of sales compensation appeals, provides strategic guidance on policy interpretation, and ensures decisions align with established policies, business objectives, and historical precedent.
The position also oversees governance initiatives, compliance audits, policy management, data analysis, and training programs that support the integrity and effectiveness of sales compensation programs. As a subject matter expert, this role is also responsible for updating and maintaining all sales compensation policy and related documents.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Conducts data source searches to ensure pertinent data capture 
  • Creates and optimizes sales performance dashboards 
  • Develops Audits, technical support, and break/fix 
  • Maintains and optimizes data processing 
  • Supports analytics needs requiring more sophisticated data science 
  • Communicates with Sales Management to resolve issues that directly impact sales performance and compensation 
  • Reviews and investigates appeals, identifies key facts based on existing policies and presents to upper management for approval. 
  • Manages day-to-day maintenance of the sales performance data in a timely manner 
  • Implements the quarterly incentive payout process for assigned countries or business units 
  • Summarizes monthly and quarterly results to provide program statistics and analyses for corporate and senior sales management. 
  • Answers questions about Enterprise Sales Planning (ESP) and Enterprise Sales Territory Alignment Tool (ESTAT) to provide support for effective system usage. 

 

Preferences 

  • Possesses strong technical skillsets including ESP, ESTAT, DRIVE, SQL, Excel, Visual Basic, Power BI, Power Query and Power Pivot 
  • Displays ability to design/optimize business processes and is a detail-oriented individual with the ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models, and technologies 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of database technologies and relational database schema design 
  • Displays ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment 
  • Demonstrates concepts visually and in writing as the situation demands 
  • Experience developing Power BI and Oracle dashboards 
  • Understands ways to identify and measure the current needs of the customer or business; uses the business need to help define the project’s requirements 
  • Experience supervising others 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Mathematics, or Computer Science 

 

Basic Qualifications 

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer 
  • Employer will not sponsor visas for position 
  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) or be a current UPS employee with three years of UPS experience 

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. 
The base pay for this position ranges from $68,172/year in our lowest geographic market up to $145,068/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate’s work experience. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. Hired applicants may be eligible for Medical/prescription drug coverage, Dental coverage, Vision coverage, Flexible Spending Account, Health Savings Account, Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account, Basic and Supplemental Life Insurance & Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Disability Income Protection Plan, Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) retirement program, Vacation, Paid Holidays and Personal time, Paid Sick and Family and Medical Leave time as required by law, and Discounted Employee Stock Purchase Program.
