Regional Sales Director (Western US)

Milacron is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Regional Sales Director to lead our key customer relationship strategy and drive revenue growth across our most critical injection molding clients in the Western US. This position is responsible for driving growth in both new machinery sales and aftermarket (parts, service, and upgrades) revenue. The Regional Sales Director manages a regional sales team, aftermarket specialists, and service support personnel to achieve sales targets, strengthen customer relationships, and expand market share. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in capital equipment sales to injection molding customers (e.g., medical, automotive, packaging, consumer goods, industrial, electronics), a strong commercial acumen, and a proven ability to navigate complex sales cycles while delivering on strategic growth targets.

Work You'll Do:

• Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop a regional team including machinery sales representatives and aftermarket sales/service team members.
  • Establish clear performance goals, sales strategies, and professional development plans.
  • Foster collaboration between machinery and aftermarket teams to deliver comprehensive customer solutions.
• Sales Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and execute a regional sales strategy aligned with company objectives for both capital equipment and aftermarket business lines.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities.
  • Oversee key account management and ensure long-term customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product management to align regional initiatives with national campaigns and product launches.
• Business Development
  • Drive new machinery sales by prospecting, qualifying, and securing new customers within the plastics processing industry.
  • Promote aftermarket offerings including spare parts, service contracts, machine retrofits, and training programs.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and technical conferences to enhance visibility and brand reputation.
• Financial Performance
  • Manage regional sales budgets, forecasts, and expense control.
  • Track and report key performance metrics, including bookings, margins, and market share growth.
  • Ensure profitable sales growth and adherence to pricing and discounting guidelines.
• Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Maintain strong relationships with OEMs, molders, processors, and key decision-makers across the territory.
  • Act as the regional voice of the customer to internal teams to drive product improvements and service enhancements.
  • Ensure seamless customer experience from initial sale through post-installation support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred)
• 8+ years of experience in capital equipment sales within the plastics industry or industrial manufacturing sector
• Proven leadership experience managing sales teams and achieving growth targets
• Strong technical understanding of plastics processing machinery (e.g., injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, or thermoforming)
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region (50%)
• Demonstrated ability to grow both machinery and aftermarket sales revenue
• Strong cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills
• Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to customer engagement
• High degree of integrity, accountability, and initiative
