Job Purpose:

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is a field-based role within the Market Access Department—distinct from the Sales organization. The KAM serves as the primary Pharmacosmos interface for assigned health systems, oncology networks, IDNs, and emerging care models.

This role is responsible for driving patient access through the formulary process, EHR integration, contract pull-through, and operationalization of Pharmacosmos products within complex healthcare delivery systems. Success requires sophisticated business acumen, strong cross-functional leadership, and the ability to align customer needs with the complete value proposition of all PTI brands. This individual will work in a highly collaborative environment that includes field sales, market access, medical, legal, and regulatory.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Account Leadership

  • Conduct regular strategic business reviews and account plans across oncology and hospital-based accounts to support patient access, customer utilization, and product growth.
  • Lead engagement to drive product reviews, formulary inclusion, and EHR build for pathway placement of Pharmacosmos products.

Market Access, Pricing, and Contracting Expertise

  • Execute all contract pull-through, with a focus on oncology networks, hospital systems, community oncology practices, and independent infusion centers.
  • Maintain mastery of key pricing and reimbursement mechanisms, including:
    • ASP quarterly adjustments
    • WAC pricing
    • Distribution channel analytics
    • Distribution models
    • 340B Pricing
    • Unique acquisition priorities
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for business-to-business discussions involving contracting terms, pricing strategy, and rebate structures.
  • Build long term partnerships with national accounts, contracting, and analytics teams to evaluate performance and develop collaborative growth strategies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate closely with internal matrix partners (Sales Account Representatives, Field Reimbursement Managers, Clinical Nurse Liaisons, Medical Science Liaisons, and Regional Sales Directors) to deliver holistic, customer-centric solutions
  • Facilitate alignment between Market Access, Sales, Medical, and other enabling functions to ensure cohesive execution.

Customer Insight & Industry Intelligence

  • Maintain current knowledge of oncology standards of care, emerging clinical trends, and value-based care initiatives, using approved materials to communicate product and contract value.
  • Continuously monitor competitive activity, marketplace dynamics, and shifts in payer or regulatory landscapes that may impact Pharmacosmos products.
  • Build and sustain relationships with formulary-influencing KOLs and PHDMs across pharmacy, clinical, and administrative leadership, not limited to but including participation in regional and national conferences.

Operational Excellence

  • Prioritize time and opportunities in alignment with regional and national strategies.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of account activity in the PTI CRM system.
  • Provide routine updates on QBRs, contract activity, at-risk accounts, and major wins.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by Market Access leadership.

Requirements for Position:

  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA/MHA preferred).
  • Extensive market access account management experience within oncology clinics or hospital systems.
  • Experience with buy-and-bill products and GPO contracting pull-through.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive-level decision makers.
