Job Overview: The Key Account Manager (Remote) is a crucial role within our client's Sales Department, reporting directly to the Vice President of National Accounts. This position is responsible for creating and executing effective strategies for placements at National Accounts, driving business growth, and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Know Your Business:
    • Train and educate yourself on the company's product portfolio, merchandise, and marketing programs.
    • Stay informed about the National Accounts' Annual Business Plan.
    • Understand existing and potential National Accounts' product offerings, locations, distributors, and annual ordering schedules.
    • Maintain a database of current and prospective National Accounts.
    • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics.
    • Regularly report on National Accounts' performance against the Annual Business Plan.
    • Conduct pricing surveys and communicate results to the Chief Sales Officer.
    • Adhere to budget constraints.
    • Communicate regularly with the Chief Sales Officer and colleagues to resolve issues promptly.
  • Own Your Business:
    • Deliver the targets for placements and volume as stated in the National Accounts Annual Business Plan.
    • Manage relationships with Distributors and Buyers focused on National Accounts.
    • Emphasize or introduce the company's products to National Accounts.
    • Assist with distributor annual business plans as needed.
    • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to execute promotions, samplings, sponsorships, and other activities.
    • Provide updates on key initiatives and placements at National Accounts to relevant teams.
  • Grow Your Business:
    • Share best practices with Sales and Marketing colleagues.
    • Identify and prospect potential high-priority National Accounts.
    • Foster long-term relationships with National Accounts' buyers and distributors.
  • Be An Ideal Team Player:
    • Follow the Best Day Way and embody the company's values.
Requirements include:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional alcohol beverage sales experience.
  • Established relationships with National and Regional chain buyers.
  • Experience in both on-premise and off-premise alcohol sales.
Skills:
  • Proficient in VIP, syndicated IRI, and Nielsen data.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Certifications:
  • Applicable state-issued Responsible Alcohol Service certification required.
Knowledge:
  • In-depth understanding of the alcohol beverage industry, market trends, and customer preferences.
Key Competencies:
  • Self-starting doer with a growth mindset.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel within and outside the territory up to 6 days a month.
