Profile Requirements:
- HR Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably managing HR operations for a security, private protection, facilities, staffing, or similarly workforce-intensive organization.
- Security Industry Knowledge: Understanding of security personnel requirements, licensing, background screening, certifications, training, and compliance for armed and unarmed officers is strongly preferred.
- Employment Law & Compliance: Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employee relations, labor and employment regulations, workplace documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Communication & Leadership: Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, discretion, problem-solving ability, and confidence working with employees and senior management.
- Organization & Technology: Highly organized and detail-oriented with experience using HRIS, payroll/timekeeping systems, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and digital employee-record management tools.
Core responsibilities:
- HR Operations: Manage day-to-day HR functions, policies, procedures, employee records, and personnel documentation across the organization.
- Recruitment & Staffing: Lead recruitment, screening, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of security personnel, including armed and unarmed officers, patrol officers, loss prevention, firewatch staff, and corporate support roles.
- Employee Relations: Handle employee concerns, disciplinary matters, performance issues, investigations, and workplace conflicts while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Compliance & Policies: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, security licensing requirements, background checks, certifications, and company policies.
- Training & Development: Coordinate required security training, certifications, orientations, refresher courses, and professional development programs for employees.
- Performance Management: Establish and manage performance reviews, attendance tracking, corrective action processes, employee retention initiatives, and workforce engagement.
- Payroll & Benefits Support: Maintain accurate employee information and coordinate with payroll and benefits providers regarding new hires, changes, timekeeping, leave, and employee eligibility.
- Workforce Planning: Partner with management to forecast staffing needs, support scheduling and deployment requirements, and maintain a qualified workforce capable of supporting armed/unarmed security, patrol, loss prevention, firewatch, and technology-enabled security services.
