The Business Development Manager will identify new sales opportunities, manage strategic client relationships, and deliver product presentations to grow revenue. They are also responsible for providing accurate sales forecasting and coordinating with the product development team based on end-user feedback.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work both independently and with the Sales Team to identify opportunities aligned with strategic company goals
Support product development efforts based on real-time input from the current end-user base and distribution network
Follow up on new business opportunities and set up customer meetings; develop and deliver presentations to communicate products to prospective clients; oversee development of marketing literature; and contribute to business capture activities and sales proposals
Act as the primary point of contact for highly visible and/or strategic prospects, establishing personal, long-term relationships with customers
Provide detailed forecasting and reporting on the sales pipeline
Provide input to improve marketing materials and coordinate on lead generation efforts
Attend client meetings, industry trade shows, and events (travel up to 75% of the time)
Develop industry relationships and partnerships to generate referral leads
Achieve sales targets and forecasts to meet company goals
Develop relationships with key decision-makers to profitably grow company sales and revenue
Track and record all sales activity related to current and potential customer opportunities, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
Leverage all available sources of information to develop business strategies and generate sales
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience (in the absence of a degree, 10+ years of relevant experience required)
Demonstrable sales success through prospecting and growing revenue in large accounts
Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions; copes effectively with complexity and change
Experience planning and implementing sales strategies
Experience with customer relationship management
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
Strong organizational and follow-up skills
Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Firearms experience required; instructor certification a plus
Prior law enforcement and/or military experience a plus
Prior experience with government sales a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
