This position is responsible for developing new business opportunities, growing existing customer relationships, expanding channel partnerships, and increasing market share within the region. The successful candidate will work closely with distributors, system integrators, machine builders, end users, and DENSO affiliates to identify opportunities and deliver automation solutions that solve real-world manufacturing challenges.
This role requires a consultative sales approach, strong technical aptitude, strategic thinking, and the ability to build long-term customer relationships while driving sustainable sales growth.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Growth
- Develop and execute territory sales strategies to achieve revenue, profit, and market share objectives.
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities throughout the Southeast region.
- Prospect and develop relationships with new end users, system integrators, machine builders, distributors, and OEM partners.
- Expand DENSO Robotics' presence in strategic growth markets including Life Sciences, Medical Devices, Food & Beverage, Electronics, Semiconductor, Logistics, Packaging, and General Manufacturing.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through proactive customer engagement and market development activities.
Channel Development
- Grow and strengthen relationships with distributors, system integrators, machine builders, and strategic channel partners.
- Conduct regular business reviews with channel partners to drive opportunity development and revenue growth.
- Support partner training, product education, lead generation programs, and joint sales activities.
- Identify and recruit new channel partners where appropriate to improve market coverage and customer access.
Customer Relationship Management
- Develop executive-level and engineering-level relationships with key customer accounts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regional customer opportunities, quotations, negotiations, and issue escalation.
- Collaborate with Application Engineering, Service, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Re-engage dormant accounts and expand business within existing strategic customers.
Sales Planning & Execution
- Develop accurate sales forecasts and maintain pipeline visibility using Salesforce CRM.
- Manage opportunities from lead generation through project specification, quotation, purchase order, and implementation.
- Prepare customer proposals, pricing recommendations, and business cases within established authority levels.
- Track territory performance, activity metrics, and key performance indicators for management review.
Market Development & Industry Engagement
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of successful sales experience in Robotics, Industrial Automation, Factory Automation, Machine Vision, Motion Control, Industrial Software, Capital Equipment, or related technologies.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales objectives.
- Demonstrated experience developing new business opportunities and managing complex sales cycles.
- Strong understanding of industrial sales channels, including distributors, system integrators, machine builders, OEMs, and direct end-user customers.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the Southeast territory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling industrial robots, collaborative robots (cobots), automation systems, machine vision systems, or related technology solutions.
- Experience working with Salesforce CRM or similar customer relationship management platforms.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and automation applications such as material handling, machine tending, assembly, packaging, palletizing, inspection, and pick-and-place systems.
- Experience supporting strategic industries such as Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, Electronics, Food & Beverage, Logistics, or Automotive Manufacturing.
