Daikin Comfort Technologies Mfg, Inc. is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Director of Sales Initiatives position for our North division located remotely, but local, to the Northeast U.S. region. The Director of Sales Initiatives will drive culture change within the Sales team as he/she manages adoption of strategic tools (Salesforce & Daikin Sales Process), products (ePremium and RAQA) and programs (Daikin Cloud Services, Inside Sales, Training, Reclamation) for the COD, DOD& Independent channels to ensure sales and market share goals are met. The DSI manages a team of Product Specialists to collaborate with and teach TSMs to qualify, win, and retain key targets for their product category. Works with sales leadership (COD, DOD & IND) to maximize high performing salespeople, and coach with supportive accountability the salespeople who are not engaged or not contributing to our strategic goals.

Position Responsibilities may include:

• Define process to ensure strategic product & program goals are being executed and measured.

• Drive a culture of coaching with our ASMs to enable talent development and growth with their TSMs.

• Oversee implementation & adoption of the Daikin Sales Process and Salesforce tools through interactions with sales leaders & salespeople. Weave these concepts into our Sales culture and encourage consistent use.

• Assist in the implementation of the Inside Sales program to ensure that the role is being implemented as intended and fully leveraged to actively recruit new business.

• Communicate and reinforce Company expectations of existing and newly recruited DCPs & Amana Advantage dealers.  Ensure that active promotion and sales of FIT/S/SD and Daikin ductless products are clearly understood commitments with our dealer base.

• Oversee coordination between sales activities and required training execution to ensure:

o TSMs and RSDs are well prepared to effectively sell our strategic products

o Dealers are knowledgeable and well trained to sell our products (proper sizing & application)

o Dealers are well trained to provide quality installations

• Assist in creating strategic growth initiatives and strategies for expanding opportunities for Independent Distributors and dealers

• Research and analyze current and future business opportunities with strategic products and develop plans to capitalize on them

• Closely work with the Region Managers, Area Sales Managers and Regional Sales Directors to develop and track dealer targets for strategic products. 

• Assist DVPs as necessary to manage the Regional Managers and the Regional Sales Directors to avoid and/or resolve dealer conflicts

• Leverage market analysis provided by Sales Planning, Pricing Directors etc. (including pricing, market share and potential market revenue) to aid Product Specialists & TSMs select the best targets for conversion.

• Identify markets that are underperforming with strategic products & programs, work with the regional managers and regional sales directors to develop and provide solutions to meet current goals 

• Report field issues as necessary to the appropriate department (e.g., Product Marketing, Quality etc.). Participate in follow up calls as needed to communicate clear understanding of the issue with DTTP team.  Coordinate appropriate VOC, etc.

• Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

Nature & Scope • Develops and implements strategic plans and objectives for the department/sub-function in an effective and innovative fashion

• Understands the business and can put together comprehensive department solutions 

• Works with other leaders to establish strategic plans and works towards achieving them

• Provides leadership and direction to managers in their respective division/department

• Sees to department staffing needs (e.g. interviewing, hiring, new hire and ongoing training, annual evaluations, etc.)

• Participates in budget development and monitoring of expenses

• Level of signing authority established by company policy/guidelines

Knowledge & Skills:

• Ability to effectively plan, set priorities, and manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines

• Ability to inspire and coach others to embrace and implement complex products and programs

• Demonstrated tenacity and initiative to create new business opportunities with the ability to persuade and influence others

• Ability to maintain stability, dependability and professionalism when faced with changing and difficult situations

• Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office (Excel, Word) and various technology and point-of-sale applications

• Written and verbal communication skills to effectively address all levels within the organization

• Ability to represent the company effectively in a variety of settings with a demonstrated understanding and appreciation for diverse culture

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business policies, procedures, equipment manuals, training materials, and corporate communication

• Ability to compose professional internal and external business communications including reports, memos, letters, and e-mails

• Ability to work in a highly collaborative, cross-functional work environment

• Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job.

Experience:

12+ years of business development experience

8+ years people management experience 

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience.

People Management: Yes
