The Account Manager is responsible for retaining and growing existing client relationships while identifying and onboarding new business opportunities. The role focuses on daily client engagement, driving product adoption, and achieving KPIs related to revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
Overview:
We are seeking dynamic and goal-oriented Account Managers to join our Account Development Team. In this role, you will be responsible for retaining, growing, and expanding existing client relationships while actively onboarding and cultivating new business opportunities. You will serve as a strategic partner to our clients, ensuring satisfaction, driving adoption of our products and services, and identifying opportunities for deeper engagement.
This role is focused exclusively on daily client engagement and inside sales—not on operational or delivery execution. As a key contributor to the company’s growth, your compensation will include a backloaded, performance-based incentive plan directly tied to your success in achieving KPIs such as retention, revenue growth, upsell performance, and client satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities:
- Client Retention & Growth:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients
- Maintain and grow client relationships through strategic engagement and value-added interactions
- Conduct monthly and quarterly business reviews (MBRs/QBRs) using a structured, agenda-driven format
- Ensure client’s short and long term initiatives are addressed
- Solicit accurate monthly, quarterly and yearly forecasts
- Document meetings and action plans in communications with the client and in the CRM and manage appropriate take aways to completion
- Drive product adoption and upselling initiatives based on client needs and opportunities
- Serve as the first line of defense, report to internal stakeholders on status of client engagement and satisfaction
- Collaborate with Sales Administration to ensure client needs are addressed (eg. integrations, system updates, RFP/RFI and due diligence requests)
- New Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through call outreach (cold call prospect lists), referrals, dormant accounts, and underperforming accounts
- Foster new client relationships and support their onboarding journey to ensure a smooth and valuable experience and then shift to an account retention/growth strategy as discussed above
- Advocate for client needs internally and act as a trusted advisor externally
- Sales & Communication:
- Execute inside sales strategies to support cross-selling and upselling to existing accounts
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure strategic alignment and client success
Deliver presentations and proposals that reflect client goals and highlight growth opportunities
- KPI-Driven Accountability:
- Meet and exceed KPIs related to client retention, account expansion, business development activity, and customer satisfaction
Participate in performance-based compensation programs structured to reward long-term success and partnership development
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in account management, client development, or inside sales
- Proven success managing a large client base and driving revenue growth through cross-sell/upsell strategies
- Experience in managing a pipeline and documenting pipeline activities
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong cold-calling and lead generation skills
- Comfortable with daily call goals and weekly/monthly revenue targets
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of an organization
- Deep understanding of client needs with the ability to advocate effectively on their behalf
- High energy, positive attitude, and a growth mindset
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience conducting structured MBRs/QBRs
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and results-driven
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth B2B environment
- Familiarity with CRM systems and sales enablement tools
Total compensation for this role includes a base salary of $65,000, quarterly bonus, $10,000 in employer-sponsored life insurance, health insurance, a 401(k) employer match, and accrual of 100 hours of PTO per year, with increases based on length of service). Travel-related expenses will also be reimbursed.
