The Underwriter is responsible for reviewing residential mortgage loan applications to determine borrower eligibility and creditworthiness in accordance with regulatory guidelines. They must also evaluate collateral quality, document underwriting decisions, and communicate effectively with internal teams and credit union partners.
The primary duty is to serve as the single point of contact for delinquent mortgage borrowers, managing outreach and early intervention efforts. Responsibilities include monitoring accounts, conducting outbound collection calls, and analyzing financial situations to discuss payment options.
