The LBS Finance Site Liaison team serves as a key accounting partner to Lifepoint facilities, helping ensure accurate financial reporting and a consistent, well-controlled close process. This role will support a growing portfolio of nine inpatient rehabilitation facilities and work closely with facility leadership and LBS Finance partners in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

 

How you’ll contribute

A Staff Accountant II, Site Liaison who excels in this role:

• Serves as the primary accounting liaison for a portfolio of approximately nine inpatient rehabilitation facilities, providing ongoing financial and accounting support to facility leadership.

• Manages the end-to-end general ledger close process for assigned facilities, including completion of close checklists, journal entries, account reconciliations, post-close review, and required certifications.

• Prepares and reviews journal entries and supporting documentation to ensure transactions are complete, accurate, appropriately supported, and recorded in accordance with established accounting policies.

• Performs detailed P&L and balance sheet analysis, identifies unusual trends or variances, and researches and resolves accounting discrepancies.

• Maintains the integrity of facility balance sheets through timely reconciliations, post-close analysis, and periodic balance sheet reviews.

• Partners directly with hospital and operational leadership to provide financial analysis, explain monthly results and variances, and support management and operational reviews.

• Collaborates with LBS Technical Accounting and other Finance teams to research and resolve complex or facility-specific accounting matters.

• Supports annual budgeting and forecasting activities and assists facility leadership with understanding financial trends and performance.

• Manages facility-specific accounting and reporting activities, which may include joint venture accounting, regulatory reporting, tax-related filings, escheatment submissions, licensure renewals, and other required financial reporting.

• Ensures appropriate internal controls are maintained to safeguard facility assets and support accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.

• Identifies opportunities to improve and standardize accounting processes across supported facilities.

• Effectively manages competing priorities and deadlines across multiple facilities, particularly during month-end and year-end close.

• Maintains regular and reliable attendance and performs other duties as assigned.

 

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Additional qualifications include:

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated responsibility for the financials of multiple facilities, entities, or business units.

• Strong general ledger accounting experience, including journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial statement analysis.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze P&L and balance sheet activity, research variances, and clearly communicate financial results.

• Experience successfully managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and financial close requirements simultaneously.

• Healthcare, hospital, inpatient rehabilitation, or other multi-site accounting experience preferred.

• Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting processes.

• Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned facilities, and proactively identify and resolve accounting issues.

• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with facility and operational leadership.

• Ability and willingness to work additional evening and weekend hours during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close periods as business needs require.

• CPA designation preferred, but not required.

Salary range: $57,805-$78,036 per year.
