WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will be responsible for recording our financial transactions with unwavering accuracy. This position supports the CFO, and will be responsible for processing the company's day-to-day transactions. The staff accountant will play an instrumental role in ensuring a smooth and timely month-end / year-end close.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and post journal entries for all receipts, payments, and other financial transactions while filing associated source documents.
Work closely with our operations team to manage accounts payable, invoicing, collections.
Assist with ensuring payroll and associated employee deductions are accurate and timely.
Perform general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and report, identify, and correct errors made by both internal and external personnel.
Support timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all operational management accounts.
Maintain and update records and reports for profit and loss, sales tax, liabilities, and assets.
Assist with ensuring timely collection and payment of sales tax liabilities in multiple jurisdictions.
Liaise with outside accounting consultants in preparation of company income tax returns.
Prepare ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Be the expert of our Sage Intacct ERP and its third-party integrations.
Assist the CFO with annual budgets and forecasting.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in accounting, or equivalent experience
Minimum 2+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably at a similarly sized company
Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality
Familiarity with GAAP
Highly Ethical
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently
Exceptional attention to detail and deadlines
Local to Denver with the ability to work in our engaging office space 2+ days / week
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of Sage Intaact, Avalara, and Ramp
CPA certification with GAAP proficiency
Multi-jurisdiction sales tax experience
COMPENSATION
$80,000 - $85,000 annual salary, DOE, plus bonus.
