About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Analyst to join our growing tax team. This is a fully remote, full-time position reporting directly to the Tax Manager. The ideal candidate will primarily support domestic tax compliance and reporting, with additional responsibility for sales and use tax compliance. Experience with partnership taxation is a plus, as is exposure to international tax matters. This role will work with NetSuite and Avalara, so familiarity with these systems is valued.

What You'll Do

  • Support preparation of federal and state income tax filings and related workpapers
  • Assist with quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and reporting (ASC 740)
  • Prepare and support quarterly tax estimates and annual extension filings
  • Research domestic tax issues and monitor changes in federal and state tax law
  • Prepare account reconciliations and journal entries related to domestic tax accounts
  • Support federal and state tax audits, including gathering documentation and responding to information requests
  • Support partnership tax matters, including K-1 review and allocations, as needed (a plus)
  • Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns
  • Help maintain the sales and use tax compliance calendar to ensure filing deadlines are met
  • Support the Avalara tax engine, including configuration and troubleshooting integration issues with NetSuite
  • Respond to notices and inquiries from state and local taxing authorities related to sales and use tax
  • Assist with international tax compliance, reporting, or research as needed (a plus)
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, and automation
  • Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance, and Operations teams on tax-related matters

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 4+ years of relevant tax experience, with a solid foundation in U.S. domestic (federal and state) tax compliance
  • Working experience with U.S. sales and use tax compliance
  • Experience working with NetSuite or a similar ERP system
  • Familiarity with Avalara or similar tax automation software
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a remote environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with large volumes of data
  • Experience with partnership taxation
  • Exposure to international tax concepts (e.g., VAT/GST, transfer pricing, cross-border compliance)
  • Experience in a public accounting firm or technology/SaaS company
