Ready to do work that actually excites you?

As Senior SEO Manager, you are a senior individual contributor within the SEO team, responsible for leading the strategy and delivery on a portfolio of client accounts. This is a hands-on role combining deep technical expertise with strong client management and a high standard of strategic thinking. You are expected to take full ownership of your accounts, set the direction, drive the activity and ensure clients see measurable progress against their goals. You work closely with the Head of SEO to develop best practice across the department and help raise the standard of work across the wider team. Absolute primarily works in regulated industries including finance, iGaming, legal and healthcare. Experience in any of these verticals is advantageous, though a strong track record of senior SEO delivery in any agency environment is the primary requirement.

What will you do?

  • SEO Strategy and Delivery
  • Own and maintain an active, documented SEO strategy for every client in your portfolio, reviewed and updated at least quarterly.
  • Lead on technical SEO audits, keyword research, content gap analysis and competitor benchmarking across your accounts.
  • Develop and oversee the delivery of on-page, technical and off-page recommendations, coordinating with content and outreach where required.
  • Stay current with algorithm updates, industry developments and evolving SEO best practice and apply this proactively to client work.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to grow organic performance across rankings, traffic and conversions.
  • AI, LLMs and Search Evolution
  • Develop a strong working understanding of how AI and large language models are changing the search landscape, including their impact on organic visibility, content quality signals and user behaviour.
  • Stay current with AI-driven features in search, including AI Overviews and generative search experiences, and understand the practical implications for client SEO strategy.
  • Identify and apply AI tools that improve the quality or efficiency of SEO work, including research, auditing, briefing and analysis workflows.
  • Share knowledge with the wider team on AI developments that are relevant to the work, contributing to internal sessions and practical guidance.
  • Speak credibly to clients about how AI is affecting their visibility and how Absolute is responding to it.
  • Reporting and Performance
  • Produce and deliver monthly performance reports on time, translating data into clear commercial insight for clients.
  • Track performance against agreed KPIs and adjust strategy where targets are not being met.
  • Log all time accurately on a daily basis and flag any accounts at risk of over-servicing before hours are exceeded.
  • Maintain accurate records of account activity, strategy documents and client communications within agreed systems.
  • Team Contribution
  • Share knowledge and best practice with the wider SEO team, contributing to internal sessions and department-wide standards.
  • Support the onboarding of new clients where required, ensuring the client journey is followed from day one.
  • Act as a mentor to more junior SEO team members, providing guidance and constructive feedback on their work.
  • Support pitches and new business proposals where SEO expertise is required.
