This is Timefold -We’re building the future of intelligent planning—join us on the journey.

We are an AI planning optimization platform built on powerful, field-proven open-source solver technology. Simply put: we enable software builders to tackle some of the world's most complex, high-impact operational planning problems. From optimizing vehicle routing and employee scheduling to streamlining maintenance planning and field service logistics, our tech delivers massive economic value where it matters most.

We are on a relentless mission to free the world from wasteful scheduling! Founded in 2023, we represent the exciting next chapter of OptaPlanner—the legendary, field-proven open-source project that laid the foundation for everything we build today.

Today, we are a technically sharp, deeply passionate team of over 40 people. While our headquarters are nestled in the iconic Wintercircus building in Ghent, Belgium, we operate as a remote-first team with vibrant hubs across Belgium, the Czech Republic, Brazil and the US.

We're hiring a Senior Sales Development Representative to help build Timefold’s outbound motion in North America.

About the role

AI didn't kill the SDR role. It killed the average one. The ones who survive — and win — are the ones who figured out how to use AI as a force multiplier rather than a shortcut.

This is not a high-volume, spray-and-pray prospecting role. Timefold sells a technical platform into companies where scheduling, routing, and optimization are commercially important. Good outbound therefore starts with understanding the account, identifying the right trigger, and creating a relevant reason for the right person to speak with us.

You will work closely with Account Executives, Marketing, and Solutions Engineering to create qualified conversations in target accounts. You will focus on software vendors, OEMs, and technically mature organisations with complex planning problems.

The SDR owns the work before the opportunity: account research, outreach, early qualification, and a clean handoff to Sales. The Account Executive owns the opportunity and commercial process once it is qualified.

This role reports to the Head of Sales.

What the role looks like

Build qualified outbound demand
  • You dig into target accounts and prioritize them based on ICP fit, relevant use cases, company context, product or open-source adoption signals, and commercial potential — no spray-and-pray here.

  • You catch the signals that actually matter: hiring sprees, funding rounds, product launches, tech stack changes, content engagement, or operational complexity that screams "we need this."

  • You map accounts like a detective, pinpointing the technical, operational, and executive stakeholders who actually move the deal.

  • You run outreach that doesn't feel like outreach — tailored messages across email, phone, LinkedIn, and the communities where our audience actually hangs out.

  • You turn conversations into qualified meetings and Sales-accepted leads that AEs are genuinely excited to pick up.

  • You keep HubSpot squeaky clean — contacts, activity, source, lead status, and qualification data, all accurate, all the time.

  • You share the playbook, openly: what messaging lands, what objections keep popping up, which personas and signals convert, and which account segments are worth chasing.

  • You team up with Marketing, trading campaign feedback, outbound insights, and content ideas that actually make prospects lean in.

  • You help shape Timefold's outbound motion as we scale — this isn't a role where you follow a script, it's one where you help write it.

Craft outreach for technical buyers

We are targeting developers, architects, engineering leaders, product leaders, and data teams — that means you'll touch upon genuinely complex planning and optimization problems, not just the buzzwords around them.

  • You engage operational and executive stakeholders with messaging tied to business outcomes: service quality, operational efficiency, scheduling complexity, growth, and build-versus-buy decisions.

  • You know the difference between a technical evaluator, a champion, an operational stakeholder, and the economic buyer — and you flex your approach accordingly, because one-size-fits-all pitches don't work on people who solve hard problems for a living.

  • You treat open-source and community signals as a research starting point, not a shortcut — you validate relevance before ever mistaking interest for intent.

Convert & engagement

Success is not measured only by emails sent or meetings booked.

  • Meaningful engagement in target accounts — not just opens and clicks, but real conversations.

  • Meetings that actually show up and get accepted by Sales.

  • Sales-qualified leads with credible fit, real intent, and a clear next step — no mystery leads.

  • Opportunities sourced from the right accounts and segments, not just whoever answered the phone.

  • Sharp insight on which messages, personas, and triggers actually convert — so the whole team gets smarter, not just you.

You're probably a fit if

Start-up energy doesn't scare you — it motivates you.

  • 3+ years of SDR, BDR, or outbound sales experience in a B2B technology company.

  • A track record of creating qualified pipeline or Sales-accepted opportunities not only booking meetings.

  • Experience prospecting into mid-market or enterprise accounts.

  • Experience engaging technical buyers such as developers, architects, engineering leaders, product leaders, or IT teams.

  • You've used AI outreach tools hands-on and have strong opinions about what actually works

  • You think in workflows, not tasks — you automate the repetitive so you can focus on the creative

  • You've prospected into technical buyers and know that developers delete lazy sequences on sight

  • You measure yourself on pipeline generated, not activity logged

  • Curiosity about technology. You do not need to be an engineer, but you should be able to hold a credible conversation about technical platforms, developer tools, and enterprise software.

  • Data-driven and rigorous with HubSpot and CRM hygiene.

What You'll Learn

Joining Timefold provides a unique opportunity for continuous learning and growth. In this role you will learn:

  • How to build an outbound motion from zero inside a technical product company — the kind of experience most SDRs never get because they inherit someone else's playbook

  • How enterprise developers and engineering leaders actually buy software — and why that changes everything about how you sell

  • How to use AI as a genuine commercial advantage, not just a tool to send more emails

  • What it takes to convert open-source community traction into enterprise pipeline — a motion that is becoming one of the most valuable in B2B GTM
