Scope Summary:
The Senior Global Tax Accountant will manage the organization's global tax compliance function. This role serves as the primary internal point of contact for coordinating outside tax providers and advisors across multiple countries, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of income tax, indirect tax (VAT/GST/sales & use tax), transfer pricing documentation, and information returns worldwide. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented tax professional who is equally comfortable managing external relationships, interpreting multi-jurisdictional tax requirements, and partnering cross-functionally with Accounting, Legal, and business teams to keep CompTIA compliant as it grows internationally.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Global Tax Provider & Compliance Management
- Serve as the day-to-day liaison and relationship manager for outside tax preparers, advisors, and consultants across all jurisdictions in which CompTIA and its affiliated entities operate.
- Own the global tax compliance calendar, tracking filing deadlines, extensions, and documentation requirements across federal, state/local, and international jurisdictions.
- Coordinate the timely delivery of information needed by external providers (trial balances, financial statements, supporting schedules) to ensure accurate and on-time return preparation.
- Review draft returns, workpapers, and filings prepared by outside providers for accuracy, completeness, and consistency with CompTIA's financial records prior to filing.
- Manage the U.S. federal and state corporate income tax return process, working closely with outside preparers on workpapers, extensions, and estimated payments.
- Oversee international direct and indirect tax compliance (corporate income tax, VAT/GST, withholding tax, permanent establishment considerations) in partnership with local in-country advisors.
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and foreign tax filing obligations, including registrations, estimated payments, and annual filings.
- Monitor changes in tax law and regulations across jurisdictions and assess potential impact on CompTIA's operations and compliance obligations.
- Prepare and/or review tax provisions, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation for financial statement purposes.
- Support sales & use tax and VAT/GST compliance, including nexus analysis as CompTIA's global footprint evolves.
- Manage global transfer pricing compliance, including coordinating with outside advisors on annual transfer pricing documentation (master file, local files, and country-by-country reporting as applicable), intercompany agreements, and intercompany charge calculations across jurisdictions.
- Monitor intercompany transactions for consistency with transfer pricing policy and flag discrepancies or changes in the business that may require updated documentation or advisor review.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation and workpapers to support all filings and provider deliverables.
Process, Controls & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize the global tax compliance process, including provider management workflows and internal review procedures.
- Partner with Accounting/Controllership to ensure tax filings reconcile to the general ledger and financial statements.
- Support tax audits, notices, and inquiries from tax authorities by coordinating responses with outside providers and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting of tax-related costs, including outside provider fees.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Tax collection issues are fully diagnosed, remediated, and supported by controls that prevent recurrence.
- An updated, comprehensive transfer pricing study is completed, and documentation is current across all relevant jurisdictions.
- All global tax filings are completed accurately and on time, with no missed deadlines or avoidable penalties.
- Outside tax providers have clear expectations, timely data, and consistent oversight, resulting in efficient, high-quality deliverables.
- Tax compliance processes are well-documented, scalable, and audit-ready, with new jurisdictions validated before go-live rather than discovered after the fact.
- Internal stakeholders view the Senior Tax Accountant as a trusted advisor who proactively flags risks and opportunities.
Additional Expectations:
- Employees are expected to model CompTIA's values and reflect them in how they work and collaborate.
- Participate in required and role relevant training to maintain skills, ensure compliance, and support ongoing professional development.
- May be required to travel based on role responsibilities and business needs.

- Excellent project management skills with the ability to track multiple deadlines across jurisdictions simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical tax matters for non-tax stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics).

Education and/or Experience:
- 5+ years of progressive tax experience, including exposure to multi-jurisdictional/international tax compliance (public accounting, corporate tax department, or a mix of both).
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
