Senior Community Manager, Programs & Advocacy
Hi, I'm Destin Jones, Director of Community at Jane. I've been here for seven years, and I lead our Community & Customer Advocacy team. My team and I spend our days connecting with our community by creating spaces, events, content, and programs that allow our members to learn, thrive, and grow the healthcare practices of their dreams. Today that's over 23,000 members in our community, over 83,000 connections across social media, and thousands more through virtual and in-person events across North America throughout the year.
This work connects directly to Jane's mission to help the helpers. Every clinic we support is run by people who got into healthcare to care for patients, not to figure out marketing or business development on their own. That's where our community comes in. What we've seen is that when practitioners are part of a community, they build stronger practices and better patient care. It's also, quite literally, how Jane grows. Most of our customers hear about us from someone they trust, not an ad, and Jane’s community is a huge part of making that happen.
This role exists because the people who've grown with Jane, gone above and beyond in our community, or introduced new practitioners to Jane deserve to feel celebrated for it. You'll build and own the programs that make that recognition real. You'll also lend support and expertise to help our existing programs run even better.
This is a senior individual contributor role, reporting directly to me. I see it as a genuine partnership. You'll be joining a team of five, including me. Rather than owning a single program, you'll own community programming as a whole, several connected programs working together, without needing a team under you to do it. The strategy and development are yours to drive. Others across our wider Community and Marketing team, as well as teams like Customer Support, help bring it to life. You bring the ideas and the drive; I bring the context and support to help you do it well. We'll prioritize together where to start, likely with recognition and rewards first, and build out from there as you get oriented.
Own and develop programs that recognize and reward our community members, celebrating people who've been with Jane for years, done incredible things in their communities, or helped bring new practitioners to Jane. This is the heart of the role.
Use swag as a tool to build engagement and delight across our community programs, shaping when and how it shows up, from a public-facing customer swag store to creative touches within recognition and events, while exploring partnerships with well-known brands in the space to make it feel special.
Build Jane's in-person community events program, turning the one-off events we've run in the past into something structured and repeatable, like customer meetups, campaign-tied gatherings, or intimate roundtables. Bring an experiential community marketing mindset to this work, pushing past the expected format and experimenting with new ideas that make being part of Jane's community feel tangible and memorable.
Lend support and expertise to existing community programs like our Bursary Program and Community Creator Program, and help get our upcoming Community Champions Program off the ground.
Build community programs that speak to our different verticals, working closely with our Vertical Leads, the people who own our relationships with specific practitioner groups like manual therapy, medical, and behavioral health. Understand what each specific group of practitioners actually needs, so the experience feels tailored to them, not generic.
Turn what works into playbooks, templates, and simple repeatable processes, using AI to help build and maintain them, so our programs are built to grow and scale.
Collaborate closely across teams, working with Marketing and Customer Support to make sure programs land well and reflect what each part of the business needs.
5+ years managing community, customer advocacy, or ambassador programs, including real experience scaling a program from the ground up.
Background in a customer-facing function such as support, community, or customer success, with the analytical instinct to know which metrics actually matter and to turn that into real program improvements.
Strong project management skills, with experience running multiple concurrent programs, campaigns, or events end-to-end, including owning and tracking a program budget.
Comfort and fluency working with AI tools, plus the everyday tools our team relies on, like Slack, Notion, Monday, RSVPify, Zoom, Canva, and HubSpot, to work smarter and move faster in your day-to-day.
A high degree of autonomy, able to manage priorities and execute independently with minimal guidance.
A deep, genuine care for our customers and community members. You know the difference between someone saying "this works fine" and someone saying "I love this," and you design for the second one every time.
Empathy for what it's like to run a healthcare practice, and the instinct to make people feel specifically and personally cared for rather than broadly served, because caring well for a smaller group always beats trying to care the same way for everyone.
If you don't meet every single qualification but are excited about this role, we'd still love to hear from you.
