About the job
ARS Logistics (Authorized Agent of Trinity Logistics) is a family owned and operated Third Party Logistics company with 20+ years of history. We are proud of what we have built through strong and lasting relationships with our customers and team members.
ARS moves freight across all modes for our customers — Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, Drayage, Ocean and Air. Our customers send rate requests every day, and the broker who comes back first with a clear, accurate number usually gets the load. We are hiring a Quoting Specialist to be that first response: turn incoming requests into fast, accurate quotes, follow up until they are won or lost, and take care of the customers who ship with us.
This is a customer-facing role on our customer service team. Most of your day is building truckload, partial and LTL quotes from market rate data, our quote history and carrier input, and answering customers. The rest is service: shipment updates, appointment scheduling, documents, and solving problems before the customer has to ask twice. Success is measured in response time, quote accuracy, win rate and customers who keep coming back.
Start date: ASAP
Why you’ll like working here
- Direct impact — every quote you send is a chance to win a load, and you will see which ones you won.
- Real pricing work — market data, lane history and margin judgment, not just data entry.
- Collaborative team — you work side by side with our customer service, sales, account management and carrier teams, who value open communication and follow-through.
- Structured upward mobility — a clear growth path into pricing, account management or team lead roles as we grow.
What you’ll do
- Respond to customer quote requests from our shared customer inbox and phone lines with a fast, reliable turnaround.
- Build truckload, partial / volume and LTL quotes using DAT and other market rate tools, our historical lane data, carrier team input and company margin guidelines.
- Log every quote in our quote tracker and CRM — cost basis, sell rate, margin and outcome — and follow up on open quotes to win them.
- Convert won quotes into booked orders and hand them to operations with complete shipment details (pickup and delivery windows, references, accessorials, special instructions).
- Provide customer service on active shipments: status updates, appointment scheduling, PODs and documents, and early notice when something is going to be late.
- Escalate service problems and pricing exceptions to the right person quickly, and close the loop with the customer.
- Support account managers and sales reps on quote-heavy accounts and customer bids (RFQs) when needed.
- Spot repeat lanes and customer patterns and share them with sales and the carrier team.
What you need to bring
- 1+ year (2+ preferred) in quoting, pricing support or customer service at a U.S. freight brokerage / 3PL.
- Hands-on experience pricing truckload freight with DAT RateView or a similar tool — linehaul, fuel, all-in rates and accessorials.
- Working LTL knowledge: freight class, density, and accessorials such as liftgate, residential and limited access.
- Clean margin math — margin on the sell rate vs. markup on cost.
- Excellent written English (most customer contact is by email) and clear, friendly phone skills.
- Fast and accurate under volume, with good judgment on what to answer first.
- Comfortable in Excel (lookups, basic formulas) and Outlook; quick to learn a TMS, CRM and shared inbox.
- Reliable remote setup: backup power, backup internet, backup computer, 2 to 3 screens, and a noise-cancelling headset.
- Availability during core U.S. Eastern business hours (see engagement details).
Preference given to
- Prior experience supporting a Trinity Logistics agency or another agent-model brokerage.
