Looking to join a fantastic remote team? Well, you've come to the right place! Accounting Therapy is a tenacious team of amazing accountants and bookkeepers! In fact, that's our mission - to cultivate a team of accounting experts who love to serve small businesses. We're looking for an open-minded human who loves QuickBooks and loves accounting. This human is detail-oriented, extremely coachable, and highly accountable. In terms of accounting, this person understands the difference between an asset and a liability, understands why a payroll liability may be reconciled to $0, and gets the heebie-jeebies when they see a balance in opening balance equity. In terms of personality, we are looking for someone who enjoys working and interacting with a team (yes, even in a remote environment!), likes working a traditional M-F schedule with a healthy work-life balance, and appreciates receiving regular constructive feedback to promote self-development and continuous improvement. If this sounds like you, once you join the cool kids club (aka Team Accounting Therapy), you can expect us to pour our resources into you. We think of each team member as a new member of the family and, in a perfect world, want you to grow and stay with us for a long, long while! Anticipate regular conversations about your professional and personal development and where you see yourself in the next 5-10 years. To drive it all home, this position is for you if • You are an experienced QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop accountant. • You have a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop. • You are extremely organized and have great time management skills. • You love living by a calendar and are schedule-oriented. • You like working a traditional M-F schedule and enjoy having your weekends off. • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills. • You love working with clients, are personable, and have a passion for helping small businesses achieve their goals. • You love working with a team and don't mind being on camera in daily virtual meetings. • You are tech-savvy and not afraid to learn and use new apps. • Your attention to detail is off the charts and you regularly go above and beyond the status quo. • You are an inherent self-starter and like trying to solve your own problems! This position is 100% remote (we've got team members from coast to coast!), however, there are virtual weekly team meetings, and we highly encourage our teams' attendance at a daily "Study-Hall Session" - an ongoing, drop-in style virtual group meet up where team members can get facetime, ask questions, and collaborate on projects (in fact, this is required during your 90-day intro period.) This position starts as a part-time position (20-30 hours per week) during the onboarding period but will grow into a full-time position (35-40 hours per week) most likely within 3-6 months of joining our team. Team benefits include up to a 4% 401k match, paid vacation and holidays, and supplemental insurance for eligible team members based on employment status. So, what's it like to work at Accounting Therapy? • If we haven't driven this point home yet, we are above all things a Team! Because of our unique remote setup, our team members get a lot of facetime with each other and develop actual, dare we say it friendships. • We rely heavily on calendars to know what's going on in each other's world. We are totally fine with flexibility (i.e. you need to take your kiddo to dance on a Tuesday at 3 pm) as long as it's on the calendar and work is getting done efficiently and on time. • We value honesty and transparency - if you're struggling, say so, if you need help, ask for it - in our opinion, this is how trust is built and how improvements are made. • We also love to have fun. Our vibe is casual and personable but still professional, we are client-facing after all. • On the topic of clients we are ultimately here to provide a top-notch service to our clients. This does not mean hiding our amazing personalities. It does mean we do what we say we are going to do when we say we are going to do it and we do it to the best of our ability utilizing all resources at hand. • We are client-facing and frequently have virtual on-camera meetings with our clients. • We are a very tech-heavy company; we use 6-7 apps daily to perform our jobs. • And finally, we invest a lot of time in cultivating our company culture! This includes hosting quarterly Spirit Rallies (think a fun state-of-the-union meeting), sporadic after-hours virtual happy hours, and an annual company virtual retreat called Space Camp! Our Application Process Since we're all about transparency, here's a quick breakdown so you know what to expect! • Apply Online: Submit your application & resume by clicking the "Apply" button. • Virtual One-Sided Interview: Record a one-sided interview immediately after replying (you'll receive a link via a message). This virtual interview is super important to us because communicating on camera is a huge part of our internal & external communication practices. We will not only be assessing your responses but also how your spectacular personality fits into our company culture and core values, so make sure to be yourself! • Review of Resume & Interview: We'll review your resume and virtual interview to assess fit. • Financial Assessment: Complete a 20-30 minute financial assessment if selected. • Assessment Review: We'll grade your assessment and inform you of the outcome. • Live Interview : If you pass, we'll schedule a live interview. • Live Interview : Successful candidates proceed to a second interview. • QuickBooks Assessment: Complete a QBO & QBDT assessment with our team leader. • Reference Check & Verification: We'll verify your employment and conduct background checks. • Offer Letter: Congratulations! If selected, you'll receive an offer letter!
