This position offers entry-level support to the full life cycle of natural gas construction projects. As a Project Manager I, reporting to the Supervisor of Capital Project Management, you will partner with all internal and external stakeholders to manage the project from initiation to completion. Any industry, construction project experience, CAPM, or PMP certifications would be beneficial. This position does include field/site visits and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule working some days in the office and some days remote.

What You Will Do

Manage natural gas construction projects. Required activities include: requirements gathering, project scoping, customer coordination, design and construction scheduling, construction management, and financial analysis.

Support management of all aspects of natural gas construction projects from initiation through meter set to ensure on-time delivery of service. This includes monitoring and communicating the project's deadlines, scope, budget and costs.

Help develop scope, schedule and milestones for natural gas construction projects.

Manage development process which includes: reviewing construction plans, running economic evaluations, drafting contract documents, and negotiating gas installation agreements with developers.

Create communication plans for all partners including developers, engineers, plumbers, site superintendents, city permitting, permitting consultants, internal engineering staff, operations, resource management, right of way, and legal.

Monitor and track progress of natural gas construction projects. Oversee status updates which includes providing updates to all partners.

Review and communicate scheduling data to ensure project consistency and optimization. Resolve problems and issues.

Develop relationships with builders; appliance dealers; heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing contractors; educators; customers; and others.

Provide information and assistance to customers including: plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning contractors and others involved in the natural gas construction projects.

Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.

Employee may perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

What You Will Need

Minimum Bachelor's Degree Construction management, engineering technology, business administration, other related field or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job-related experience

Knowledge of gas distribution system infrastructure design and materials, construction methods, and project durations.

Knowledge to interpret engineering construction plans, mechanical drawings, equipment specifications and rate schedules.

Demonstrated ability of scheduling principles and practices.

Knowledge or training related to

Gas fired equipment design and operation

Line extension program

Job order preparation (Specified by position)

Pressure request procedures

Experience in use and function of project management software and office equipment including computers and applicable software.

Demonstrated ability researching and composing reports, studies, cost analyses, contracts, and correspondence.

Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively.

Apply math, algebra, and statistics

Read and write fluently in English.

Applicable driver's license for travel to meet with customers and attend multiple civic and community functions.

Mobility to travel in and around office and outdoor environments and job sites.

Communicate and exchange information; conduct oral presentations.

Sufficient to perform job duties.
