Lighthouse is where innovation meets support and where collaboration is the key ingredient to success. We grow together and are stronger together.

What’s unique about this role?

We seek a Principal Product Manager to lead the product pillar for collections, intake, processing, and the data platform: set the product strategy and roadmap and lead the product managers who deliver it as a team lead, setting priorities and standards without line management.

You bring deep eDiscovery and data-pipeline expertise, a proven track record of owning a complex platform roadmap, and the ability to lead and coach other product managers through influence. You combine long-range strategic thinking (what we build, and why) with hands-on product judgment, and you make the cross-pillar trade-offs that a connected data flow requires. You are a trusted advisor to senior leadership and raise the standard of product craft across the organization, starting with how we write specifications and run discovery and prioritization.

Have demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering,

architecture, technical program management, operations, consulting, marketing, sales, and customer success, to ensure alignment and successful execution of product initiatives. Have demonstrated ability to align stakeholders at every level, including where you do not hold formal authority.

What will this person do?

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for the pillar (collections, intake, processing, and the data platform), meeting market needs while optimizing revenue, margin, and market share. This job consists of near-term (tactical) and long-term (strategic) elements, including new product development, life cycle management, and delivery of complex, multi-team, multi-quarter initiatives.
  • Set a 2–3-year vision for the pillar and contribute it to the Long-Range Plan, defining the What and the Why, with clear implications for the Engineering, Architecture and Operations partners who determine the How and the When. Work with those partners to resolve trade-offs and investment levels.
  • Answer the cross-cutting questions that span the pillar's four areas and its neighbors, such as how legacy capabilities evolve and how data platform decisions shape every other pillar's roadmap and align requirements with the teams affected.
  • Lead the product managers in the pillar as a team lead without line management: set priorities and quality standards, coach and mentor, give structured feedback to their managers, and take part in hiring and onboarding.
  • Raise the bar on product management craft: set the standard and templates for specifications and requirements documents, discovery, prioritization, success metrics, and launch readiness; review and coach on specifications; and prove the practices in the pillar before extending them across the organization in partnership with Product Management leadership. Measure improvement over time, including feedback from the Engineering and Architecture teams who build from the specs.
  • Lead product specifications (Market and Product Requirements Documents) for the most strategic initiatives, competitive intelligence, and engagement of necessary cross-functional resources.
  • Develop business cases for new products and major platform investments, including cost structure, ROI, and build, buy or integrate decisions.
  • Set AI product strategy for the pillar, deciding which AI capabilities to build, buy or integrate for processing and data workflows, and champion AI-augmented product management workflows across the team.
  • Partner with Engineering leadership on platform architecture, scalability, reliability, security, and cost, and drive continuous communications among Engineering, Operations, Project Management, Consulting, Marketing, and Sales disciplines.
  • Define and report the KPIs for the pillar (for example throughput, time to ready, quality, reliability, unit cost and adoption), use them to adjust the roadmap, and present data, recommendations, and strategy to executive leadership.
  • Engage directly with enterprise clients and delivery teams to understand how data is collected, ingested, and processed in practice, and translate that into product direction.
  • Participate in joint activities with the marketing organization including portfolio planning, brand strategy, customer and competitive research, and marketing communications. Represent Lighthouse in client advisory boards, industry forums, and partnerships, with tradeshow support and participation as needed.

Bring your passion and together we will shine. It would also be great if you had the following:

  • Deep mastery of eDiscovery and the data lifecycle: collection, intake, processing, and the data platform beneath them, with working knowledge of cloud data architecture, pipelines, security, and the cost drivers of large-scale processing.
  • Deep command of product management craft at scale (specification writing, discovery, prioritization, success metrics) and a proven track record of improving product management processes and establishing frameworks or standards that others adopt and sustain.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop product managers without formal authority, and to influence and align stakeholders at every level, including partners outside the reporting line.
  • Strategic AI leadership: sets AI product strategy for a portfolio, makes build, buy or integrate decisions, and understands model lifecycle trade-offs (validation, deployment, drift) as well as AI governance and regulatory trends.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs and engage engineers and architects on design decisions.
  • Proven strategic planning ability and strong business and financial acumen (including understanding of return on investment, cost structures, and budgets), with a track record creating end-to-end business plans and models that support profitable growth.
  • Experience managing executive expectations and presenting strategy and KPIs to executive teams and enterprise clients.
  • Surfaces risks early and clearly, owns outcomes rather than activity, and brings grit, a preference for action and a collaborative, service-minded approach.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree a plus.
  • 10+ years of demonstrated success in product management, including experience leading or mentoring other product managers (formal people management not required), and a track record of owning the full product lifecycle from concept to launch across multiple products.
  • Deep experience in eDiscovery, legal technology, or enterprise data platforms, including long-range product strategy (2–3-year horizons) and navigating platform migration or convergence.
  • Demonstrated experience introducing product management practices, including specification standards, in an established team and sustaining their adoption.
  • Experience with product management in a service business, and Product Management certification, a plus.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Duties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table.
  • Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).
