A healthcare services organization in New York City is currently seeking an experienced Payroll professional to join their team in the Bronx as their new Payroll Manager. In this role, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for providing operational, managerial, and strategic direction for the payroll function of the organization and its subsidiaries.

About the Opportunity:
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 8:30am to 5:3-pm
  • Setting: Hybrid, In-Person Office
Responsibilities:

The Payroll Manager will:
  • Evaluate, develop, recommend, and implement payroll policies, processes, and system enhancements designed to improve business processes within the department
  • Analyze complex transactions, identify issues, and work with the Internal Operational teams to identify causes, assess risks, and implement plans to eliminate future occurrences
  • Manage all operations related to absence management and time tracking and attendance functionality, including training and updates
  • Interact with various departments/timekeepers to verify time and attendance accuracy utilizing the Workday system
  • Ensures timely communication of changes to payroll policies, systems, and regulations to employees and customers
  • Maintain current knowledge of, and compliance with, applicable local, state, and federal wage laws and reporting requirements
  • Establish internal controls to ensure the integrity of personnel and payroll data in all internal and external systems
  • Directly supervise the Payroll team and provide training and evaluation to enhance performance, development, and work product
  • Upload to the payroll system and verifies for accuracy, including employee reimbursement for payment weekly and bi-weekly, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Payroll experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong background in Time & Attendance Management
  • Knowledge in FLSA, DOL, and all regulatory aspects regarding laws governing payroll and taxation
  • Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Management role
  • Expertise in Payroll Applications (i.e. Workday, ADP, Peoplesoft, Oracle Financial, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office proficient (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Strong skills in Payroll Accounting
  • Solid analytical, mathematical, and problem solving skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Master's Degree
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Certification from the American Payroll Association
