Position Overview

Tesseon is seeking an experienced Payroll Account Manager to own a book of client accounts as their named, long-term point of contact. This is the depth role on our service team. You handle account-level setup in Paycor, run complex and off-cycle payrolls, guide clients through platform questions, resolve escalated issues, and protect the client relationship over the long term. You work primarily in Paycor and carry your accounts against time-based service targets.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive hourly rate: $30/hr- $35/hr

Key Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of assigned client accounts as their primary Account Manager and long-term relationship owner
  • Handle account-level configuration in Paycor following standard operating procedures: bank and ACH setup, time, earnings, deductions, and other account changes
  • Process complex and higher-level payrolls and off-period payrolls that fall outside the regular schedule
  • Guide clients through migration questions and platform how-to questions
  • Scope, build, and deliver custom reports
  • Own new service requests
  • Manage retention and satisfaction
  • Investigate and resolve escalated issues, fixing them or routing them to the right team
  • Serve as backup on the client phone line behind the front-line support team
  • Keep every client request in a clear, tracked state and meet first-response, resolution, and client-satisfaction targets

Requirements

  • Proven, hands-on Paycor experience, including running payroll, account setup, and reporting in the Paycor platform
  • Strong payroll background with 3 or more years processing multi-state payroll, including complex and off-cycle runs, garnishments, PTO and accruals, and earnings and deductions
  • Excellent customer service and account management, with a proven track record owning client relationships and de-escalating and resolving client issues
  • Multi-state payroll knowledge and comfort with the full account lifecycle
  • Accuracy and follow-through under deadline, and comfort working in a tracked, service-level-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a payroll service bureau, multi-client, or PEO environment
  • FPC or CPP certification
  • Background at a major payroll or HCM provider (ADP, Paychex, Paycom, Paylocity, Paycor, iSolved, or similar)
  • Familiarity with a support or ticketing tool such as Zendesk
