The Myopia Management Sales Manager will lead and mentor a team to achieve sales targets while developing strategic plans for market growth. They are responsible for building relationships with key opinion leaders and ensuring effective execution of marketing programs across the myopia management portfolio.
Team Leadership and Development:
• Lead, coach, and mentor the Myopia Management Specialist team to achieve sales and growth targets.
• Set clear goals and objectives for team members, regularly evaluating performance and providing constructive feedback to ensure continuous development.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture, encouraging knowledge sharing and best practices.
• Take responsibility for achieving the entire team's annual budget.
• Supervise and manage activities to ensure the annual budget is met.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the myopia management portfolio to drive market penetration and revenue growth.
• Identify new business opportunities and develop go-to-market, including targeting, segmentation, and positioning, to maximize impact.
• Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to adjust strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), ECPs, and industry groups to drive advocacy for CooperVision’s myopia management solutions.
• Represent CooperVision at key industry events, conferences, and seminars to promote awareness and education on myopia management.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales (NSD), Professional Affairs, Product Manager and Brand Manager, to ensure alignment and effective execution of strategies.
Sales and Business Development Oversight:
• Oversee the Myopia Management Specialists in their customer engagements, ensuring a high level of service and a seamless experience.
• Drive the development of tailored marketing programs and initiatives with key accounts, resulting in growth and positive return on investment.
• Ensure effective utilization of CooperVision's full portfolio of value-added services to support the growth of myopia management products.
Training, Education, and Support:
• Develop and oversee comprehensive training programs with Professional Affairs for the Myopia Management Specialist team and internal Sales to ensure consistent messaging and product understanding.
• Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and make data-driven adjustments to enhance learning outcomes.
Data-Driven Decision Making and Reporting:
• Utilize data analytics to evaluate the performance of myopia management initiatives, identifying trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on team performance, market conditions, competitive activities, and strategic recommendations.
• Ensure all activities comply with local regulations and company policies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a sales team to achieve targets.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills in both Japanese and English.
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans, drive business development, and build strong stakeholder relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and data analytics platforms.
Experience:
• 10+ years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development within the optical, Contact lense or medical device industry, with a focus on ophthalmology or optometry preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in a managerial role, leading high-performing sales or business development teams.
• Experience working in a matrix organization and managing cross-functional teams is highly desirable.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred.
• Relevant certifications in sales management, leadership, or marketing are a plus.
Work Environment:
• Frequent travel (40-50%) is required; the role is primarily remote with travel to customer sites, team meetings, and industry events as needed.
