Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director, Regional Finance, the Finance Manager will provide leadership with financial/budgeting/forecasting support, financial results, and detailed financial analysis on P&L performance and major investments. This individual will also provide support to health plans and corporate functions on financial data requests, headcount updates, and administrative expense reporting. 

Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Leads discussions with functional areas to develop cost benefit analysis for major investments and enterprise optimization projects
  • Assists in driving change as needed to improve financials for the organization and builds analytical tools to gain efficiencies in financial modeling as required
  • Analyzes and summarizes the financial statements for existing as well as new business
  • Prepares and analyzes the monthly financial statements and reports to produce forecasts of business, industry and/or economic conditions for use in making sound business decisions in a timely manner
  • Assists in the development of the annual budget and periodic forecasts and analyzes actual and budgeted figures on an ongoing basis
  • Reviews monthly financial operating results, identifying key trends, variances, and areas of improved performance
  • Prepares purchase requisitions, reviews, and pays invoices such as plan to plan, direct member reimbursements, home health payments, provider incentive payments, etc.
  • Assists in the submission of State and CMS filings such as P2P reconciliation, DIR, DOI and MLR filings, etc.
  • Ability to plan, organize and oversee assigned projects, including monitoring and evaluating the work of subordinates
  • Effective communication, verbally and in writing, with all levels of management, including executives
  • Performs ad-hoc analysis as assigned.

Education/ Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Finance, Accounting or closely related field required.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft or other financial systems, specifically Hyperion preferred.
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong Excel skills required.
  • Healthcare experience required, Medicare preferred.
  • 5+ years Financial Analysis experience to include people management.
