Overview
Shannon is seeking two Virtual Assistants to support outreach, lead generation, relationship building, and social-media communication for a K–12 program combining social-emotional learning, STEAM, arts, and practical life skills.
VAs will help identify and engage potential schools, children's hospitals, nonprofit organizations, corporate sponsors, and other qualified decision-makers who may benefit from or support the program.
The role will primarily focus on LinkedIn outreach and lead engagement, following Marc’s established outreach methodology and messaging approach. The VAs will also assist with Facebook and Instagram monitoring and direct-message responses.
Shannon already has thousands of leads, including C-level contacts and hundreds of LinkedIn connections, so the role will involve working with and organizing existing lead lists while also conducting additional research and prospecting where needed.
No outbound phone sales are required. The primary objective is to generate meaningful conversations, nurture interested prospects, and help secure qualified opportunities/meetings.
Responsibilities
1. LinkedIn Outreach & Lead Generation
- Manage and execute LinkedIn outreach campaigns using Shannon’s existing LinkedIn account.
- Work with Shannon's existing network of hundreds of LinkedIn connections and additional prospect lists.
- Research and identify relevant decision-makers and potential prospects.
- Target appropriate contacts within:
- K–12 schools and school systems
- Children's hospitals
- Nonprofit organizations
- Corporate sponsors
- Fortune 500 companies
- Other organizations relevant to the business’s Curriculum
- Prioritize C-level executives, senior decision-makers, administrators, education leaders, hospital decision-makers, partnership contacts, and other appropriate stakeholders.
- Send connection requests and personalized outreach messages based on the established process.
- Follow Marc’s outreach methodology, messaging structure, and engagement approach.
- Use approved scripts, messaging templates, and guidance provided by Shannon and the VCP/Marc training team.
- Personalize messages appropriately rather than sending generic or irrelevant outreach.
- Monitor responses and identify prospects showing interest.
- Continue appropriate follow-ups according to the established outreach process.
- Escalate qualified or interested prospects to Shannon when direct involvement is required.
The client specifically indicated that she has thousands of leads that can be worked through LinkedIn, including C-level contacts, and may provide additional lists containing names and email addresses.
2. Marc’s Outreach Methodology
The VAs will be trained and expected to follow Marc’s proven outreach methodology.
This includes:
- Following the approved outreach sequence.
- Using the messaging approach and scripts provided during training.
- Applying appropriate personalization to prospect communications.
- Understanding how to initiate conversations without immediately making the interaction feel like a hard sales pitch.
- Following the established process for responding to interested prospects.
- Maintaining consistency in messaging across campaigns.
- Tracking outreach activity and prospect responses.
- Applying feedback and corrections provided by Marc, Shannon, and VCP Operations.
- Continuously improving execution based on which messages and approaches generate meaningful engagement.
VCP and Marc will provide training on the methodology and how the VAs should conduct the LinkedIn outreach.
3. Lead Research & Prospect Identification
The VAs will support ongoing prospect research, including:
- Researching schools and school systems.
- Researching children's hospitals and relevant hospital contacts.
- Researching nonprofits and organizations that may benefit from the program.
- Researching potential corporate sponsors.
- Researching Fortune 500 companies and their relevant C-level executives.
- Identifying appropriate decision-makers within target organizations.
- Finding relevant LinkedIn profiles.
- Finding available professional contact information when appropriate.
- Organizing existing lead lists provided by Shannon.
- Segmenting leads according to target organization, role, priority, or campaign.
- Identifying additional qualified prospects beyond the lists provided by the client when needed.
4. Email Outreach
- Send professional and personalized emails to qualified prospects.
- Use client-approved scripts and messaging.
- Personalize outreach based on the prospect's organization, role, and potential relevance to CourageOUS Curriculum.
- Monitor incoming responses.
- Respond to basic inquiries based on approved messaging and instructions.
- Identify interested prospects and escalate conversations that require Shannon's involvement.
- Follow up with prospects according to the established process.
- Keep records of outreach activity and responses.
5. Facebook & Instagram Management
The VAs will also support Shannon's social-media inboxes, particularly Facebook and Instagram.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitor Shannon's Facebook messages.
- Monitor Shannon's Instagram direct messages.
- Respond to incoming messages where appropriate.
- Identify messages that represent potential business opportunities.
- Provide timely and professional responses.
- Escalate important, sensitive, or sales-related conversations to Shannon when necessary.
- Help ensure that legitimate inquiries are not missed or left unanswered.
Shannon specifically stated that she needs someone who is strong in Instagram, as this is an area where she would like additional support.
6. Lead & Conversation Management
- Maintain accurate records of prospects and contacts.
- Track outreach activity.
- Record responses and follow-up requirements.
- Monitor which prospects have expressed interest.
- Keep lead statuses updated.
- Track conversations and next steps.
- Avoid duplicate or unnecessary outreach.
- Organize leads so that the two VAs can work efficiently without overlapping unnecessarily.
- Coordinate internally when a prospect needs to be handed over to Shannon.
7. Meeting & Opportunity Support
The primary purpose of the outreach is to create qualified conversations and opportunities.
The VAs may be responsible for:
- Identifying prospects who demonstrate interest.
- Coordinating next steps with Shannon.
- Helping schedule qualified meetings or conversations.
- Providing Shannon with relevant prospect information before a meeting.
- Maintaining follow-up after initial conversations.
- Ensuring interested prospects receive appropriate next-step communication.
8. Social Media & Professional Brand Support
- Maintain a professional tone when communicating on Shannon's behalf.
- Protect the integrity of Shannon's personal/professional brand.
- Follow approved messaging and communication guidelines.
- Avoid making commitments or representations that have not been authorized.
- Escalate conversations outside the VA's authority.
- Maintain confidentiality when accessing Shannon's accounts, messages, lead lists, and business information.
9. Reporting & Communication
- Provide regular updates on outreach activity.
- Report the number and type of prospects contacted.
- Track responses and interested prospects.
- Highlight qualified opportunities.
- Report challenges, questions, or issues requiring Shannon's attention.
- Communicate with VCP Operations regarding VA performance, questions, and support needs.
- Apply feedback promptly.
- Maintain clear communication throughout the working schedule.
Primary Business Focus: CourageOUS Curriculum
CourageOUS Curriculum is the primary focus of the outreach effort.
The program is positioned as a K–12 offering incorporating:
- Social-emotional learning
- STEAM
- Arts
- Practical life skills
The client is particularly interested in outreach to children's hospitals, where children may be missing school while receiving treatment, as well as schools, school networks, nonprofit organizations, and potential sponsors.
The client described the program as a high-ticket offering and discussed outreach opportunities involving organizations with large student/patient populations.
The VAs should therefore be comfortable researching organizations and understanding enough about the program to communicate its basic value proposition accurately using client-approved materials and scripts.
Additional Business Support
Shannon also has other business interests, including Hooked on the Wizard of Oz, Hooked on Courage, and a fintech/banking-related business.
The immediate priority, however, is CourageOUS Curriculum.
Additional businesses may be supported as directed by Shannon depending on priorities, available hours, and campaign requirements.
