The Managing Director of Growth & Market Development will build and manage the firm's commercial infrastructure to expand the pipeline and deepen relationships within the private equity and investment banking sectors. This role involves coaching practitioners on business development, overseeing marketing initiatives, and serving as a force multiplier to drive firm-wide growth.
Intrinsic has grown through the quality of its work and the strength of the relationships its practitioners have built over time. That is how advisory firms at this stage almost always grow. But we have reached a point where the opportunity in front of us is larger than what organic relationship development alone can capture, and we are ready to invest in the commercial infrastructure to match.
This role exists to build and run that infrastructure. The Managing Director of Growth & Market Development is our first dedicated commercial leader, responsible for expanding the firm's pipeline, deepening our relationships with the private equity and investment banking communities, and making the practitioners around them more effective at winning work.
This is not a traditional sales role. The professionals you will be working alongside are credentialed, client-facing advisors who have built their reputations through exceptional delivery. Your job is to create the conditions in which more of their relationships convert to engagements, more opportunities move through the funnel with discipline, and the firm builds the kind of market visibility that generates inbound interest rather than just responding to it.
The mandate is both individual and organizational: you carry pipeline responsibility yourself, and you function as a force multiplier for every Director and Managing Director who is trying to grow a book of business alongside a full delivery load.
Pipeline Development (Primary Focus)
The firm's commercial engine lives here. You are responsible for expanding Intrinsic's presence in the private equity and investment banking communities and building a pipeline of opportunities.
Commercial Excellence and Sales Coaching
Advisory professionals at Intrinsic are excellent at the work. Not all of them are equally well-equipped for the commercial conversations that precede it. You build those capabilities across the organization.
Marketing and Market Visibility
You are not running a marketing department, but you are responsible for ensuring that Intrinsic's market presence is consistent with the quality of the firm's work and the ambition of its growth goals.
You bring deep fluency in how middle-market PE deals are sourced and won:
You operate as both a practitioner and a force multiplier:
Preferred backgrounds:
This position has an expected base salary range of $225,000 to $275,000 annually. Skills, experience, education, and qualifications determine final compensation. This role includes a performance-based bonus with significant upside tied directly to commercial outcomes.
Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) plan with employer contribution; paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, and company holidays; paid parental leave; hybrid and remote work flexibility; professional development support and continuing education reimbursement; and participation in the firm's employee ownership model. All full-time employees are eligible for these benefits.
About Intrinsic
Since 2010, Intrinsic has partnered with private equity firms, portfolio companies, and the office of the CFO to deliver transaction advisory services, valuation, and financial and accounting advisory support. We're a private, independent firm with significant employee ownership, headquartered in Denver, with team members across the country.
Our Healthcare Transaction Advisory practice works at the intersection of middle-market PE and healthcare services M&A — executing buy-side and sell-side diligence for sponsors investing across physician services, behavioral health, home-based care, dental, veterinary, and other care delivery businesses. We bring sector-specific analytical rigor to every engagement, and we are building a team that reflects that standard at every level.
