The Director, People will serve as a strategic business partner with the leadership team and support the overall mission and business strategy. This individual will also focus on maximizing organizational capability, enabling high performance and sustaining a highly engaged culture in continuous pursuit of HR functional excellence.

Location & Travel: The Director, People will be a remote role and will be expected to travel to HQ and domestic client sites 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop or refine core HR processes, policies and programs related to performance management, rewards & recognition, team engagement, training and development, compensation and benefits, and employee grievances.
  • Initiate and lead transformation of HR related projects based on strategic departmental and organizational goals.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and support resources to team members on HR best practices, policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for HR budget planning and tracking, while prioritizing cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Support workforce planning forecasting and preparation with the ability to build relationships and leverage strategic recruiting partnerships within the community.
  • Oversee planning and coordination of the annual IW team member awards ceremony with cross-departmental support.
  • Maintain understanding of compliance and employment laws including AAP and EEOC; develop and implement plans to address potential deficiencies within the annual AAP review.
  • Manage Ethics Hotline cases and conduct investigations with professionalism and sensitivity; advise leadership on the appropriate risk mitigating solutions.
  • Prepare and present virtual and/or in-person trainings on HR related topics to provide awareness on organizational operations and changes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HRIS software and platform functionality such as ADP, Box and CompAnalyst.
  • Analyze, benchmark and measure HR metrics and organizational trends to inform strategic decision making.
  • Oversee team member data management in compliance with document retention requirements.
  • Model and promote the IW Values and Code of Business Ethics.
  • Create a people-centric experience throughout the employment life cycle that provides a positive impact at each employment stage (i.e. onboarding/offboarding).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources management; preferably with a background in government contracting.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state and local HR compliance and legislation.
  • Robust understanding of HR principles, best practices, implementation techniques and strategies based on IW's organizational infrastructure.
  • Experience using project management tools and best practices to meet critical deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make recommendations by using judgment that is consistent with company culture as well as standards, ethics, policies, procedures or governing law.
  • Uncompromising ethics and ability to work in a highly confidential environment.
  • Possess clear public communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven success working independently and collaborating with other teams.
  • HR certifications from SHRM, HRCI or any other accredited institute preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships with team members and vendors.
