The Director of Lifecycle Marketing will own the end-to-end strategy for demand generation, onboarding, engagement, and retention. They will lead a high-performing team to translate business goals into measurable pipeline and engagement outcomes while managing the martech stack.
Job Summary:
The Director of Lifecycle Marketing owns how mPulse engages prospects and clients across the full funnel from demand generation through onboarding, activation, and retention. Reporting to the VP of Growth Marketing, this leader defines lifecycle marketing strategy end-to-end, serves as the internal authority on how mPulse's martech stack powers it, and translates strategy into measurable pipeline, engagement, and retention outcomes.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle marketing strategy — demand generation, onboarding, engagement, and retention — translating business goals into quarterly and annual roadmaps.
- Build and lead a high-performing lifecycle marketing team, establishing clear processes for campaign planning, execution, and quality assurance.
- Define audience segmentation, targeting, and communication cadence frameworks that keep engagement high without fatiguing prospects or members.
- Serve as the internal authority on HubSpot and Salesforce for lifecycle and demand gen use cases, partnering with Marketing Operations on platform architecture, automation, and governance.
- Define KPIs across pipeline, conversion, retention, and engagement, and run structured test-and-learn programs (A/B testing, holdouts) to continuously improve campaigns.
- Partner with Account Management, Sales, Product Management, Client Success, and other cross-functional teams to ensure lifecycle programs reflect mPulse's brand voice and support broader company revenue goals.
- Manage the marketing budget and forecast, monitoring spend and reporting on utilization against pipeline and retention goals.
- Uphold mPulse brand standards across all lifecycle touchpoints — email, landing pages, and campaign creative — ensuring a consistent, polished experience.
- Regularly present performance, insights, and strategic recommendations to the VP of Growth Marketing and other executive stakeholders.
Skills/Abilities/Experience:
- Experience building or scaling lifecycle, demand generation, or retention marketing programs (healthcare or B2B2C a plus)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Familiarity working with marketing automation and CRM platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce)
- Comfort managing multiple campaigns and stakeholders in a deadline-driven environment
- Understanding of B2B2C marketing dynamics and pipeline/retention metrics
- Excellent time management skills
- Collaborative work ethic with strong cross-functional partnership skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong writing and campaign copy-editing abilities
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in demand generation, lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketing
- 3+ years of experience leading and developing marketing managers or a small team
- Proficiency with HubSpot and Salesforce
- Experience in healthcare, health plans, or another regulated B2B2C industry a plus
- Familiarity with healthcare or payer compliance considerations (HIPAA, CMS marketing guidelines) a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel 5-10%
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time
