You build trust across the organization through strong communication, sound judgment, and a deep understanding of what people need to thrive in a remote environment. Whether you're guiding your team, advising leadership, or resolving complex issues, you lead with integrity and intention to create a culture where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to do their best work.
Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, organizational development, business or related area; certificates from The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) may be a substitute
• 5+ years experience in human resources, ideally within professional services industry and remote company with 50-100 people
• You demonstrate the utmost of integrity, both with clients and employees
• You are resilient and goal-oriented, with a track record of exceeding expectations
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
• Experience with the human resources platforms such as Bamboo HR and EdApp
• Knowledge of a broad range of human resource strategies and practices, including compensation, performance management, risk management, safety, hiring and employee relations; able to apply these strategies and practices in compliance with employment regulations
• Ability to further our company culture based on our Core Focus and Core Values
• Experience with analyzing data to guide strategic employment planning A day in the life
As the Director of Human Resources, you set the tone for the entire human resources department. From employee relations to payroll to compliance issues, the HR department helps ensure that an organization runs smoothly, and the Human Resources Director is at the helm.
Responsibilities include:
• Focus on delivering an exceptional employee experience and remote work culture
• Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding
• Ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations
• Manage the creation and maintenance of company policies, employee handbook, and other key resources
• Develop training materials and performance management programs to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities
• Create a compensation strategy for all employees based on market research and pay surveys; keeps the strategy up to date
• Investigate employee issues and conflicts and brings them to resolution
• Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state and federal regulations
• Use performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team
• Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently
• Maintain company organization charts and employee directory
• Partner with management to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives
• Maintain HR systems and processes
• Conduct performance and salary reviews
• Provide support and guidance to HR staff
• Analyze trends in compensation and benefits
• Design and implement employee retention strategies
• Other duties as assigned
