Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.

Purpose:

Director, Global Master Data Management (MDM) Governance owns Master Data Management policy, domain -to platform assignment, quality standards and decision rights and is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of data systems and infrastructure that provides the strategic framework to support the global orthopedics organization, while ensuring clear line of sight per system application and overall strategic alignment.

The position has ownership of all data, system and infrastructure MDM strategic processes, projects and day-to-day operations that support the major areas within the Master Data Management strategies. These major areas include Commercial, Supply Chain, R&D, and Corporate Systems and their linkage with the respected Enterprise Data Warehouses, Enterprise Data Lake and business solution environments and tool sets used to provide access to the data for the organization. 

  

 

You will be responsible for:

       

• Owner of the Global Master Data Management data landscape. Responsible for continuous assessment and data harmonization of the needs within the organization that support specific needs to optimally drive business objectives.
• Owner of the Global Master Data Management systems landscape. Responsible for continuous assessment of the needs within the orthopedic organization and leading a managed team and partners to deliver on landscape priorities.
• Provide Leadership and mentorship to the associates within the Global Master Data Management organization.
• Ensure that all team members have the necessary technical and business skills to successfully meet their business objectives. 
• Maintain strong working relationships with partners, developing their MDM knowledge and understanding of Global Master Data Management processes and capabilities.
• Establish / Maintain metrics to help drive process improvements around the respected MDM domains and respective environment
• Make independent decisions and present process/policy recommendations to Depuy Synthes Information Technologies Leadership.
• Partner with internal teams to understand requirements definition and gathering for any programs interfacing with the respected Enterprise Data Warehouses, Enterprise Data Lake and business solution environments within areas of responsibility
• Partner with the internal organization to identify and resolve deficiencies in all aspects of department systems and data capabilities.
•   Responsible for developing and leading systems improvement initiatives across Master Data Management systems to either drive efficiencies or improve performance of operational capability.
•   Maintain high levels of engagement with all Executive Leaders, Directors and Managers to ensure proactive engagement in planning and executing improvement efforts.
• Lead support of functions with respect to use and understanding of tools to access data in Master Data Management applications inclusive of content education, training and tool development and enhancement.
• Responsible for communicating related issues or opportunities to next management level.
• For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.
• Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
• Performs other duties assigned as needed.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Required

-          BS, BA degree ( Business/IT related preferred), MBA or MS

-          Minimum - 10+ years work experience required,  preferable in related field

-          Prior people management experience required

-          Creating an Enterprise or Business specific Master Data Management Strategy that supports multi-faceted data architecture, data governance framework and AI Data readiness.

-          Consistent track record of leading or mentoring teams to achieve significant quality and process improvements.

-          Experience developing training materials and instructing others at all levels required.

-          Strong Project/Account management and Testing Strategy skills with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment with tight timelines are required. Proven success in working with an Outsource partners and leading projects on-time and on budget is required

-          Experience with Master Data Management, Supply Chain, R&D, Corporate, and Commercial Systems.

-          Strong business acumen and technical skills required

-          Strong organizational and communication skills required. 

-          Strong social and interpersonal skills required.

-          Results oriented, problem solving/resolution skills required.

-          Good Critical Thinking skills required

-          Partnership and Collaboration - Ability to work in a matrix reporting structure and to be part of a project team required.

-          Ability to harmonize with senior levels of management and exercise independent discernment with regard to business decisions required.

 

Preferred

-          Experience working as Analyst preferred.

-          Experience with call center support structure / process preferred

-          Experience with process improvement tools, e.g., SFE, LEAN/Six Sigma, preferred.

-          Proficiency (minimal to no training needed) in query & report writing tools

-          Proficiency (minimal to no training needed) with Incentive Compensation Systems

-          Proficiency (minimal to no training needed) in PC software (such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Windows) required.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$150,000.00 - $258,750.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).



This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.



Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
