Overview

As the Director, Product Marketing, you will own product marketing strategy for a defined portfolio of healthcare SaaS solutions, shape differentiated market narratives, and lead go-to-market planning that supports product adoption, revenue growth, customer retention, and competitive positioning.
In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner to Product, Commercial, Sales, Customer Success, and executive stakeholders, using customer insights, buyer research, competitive intelligence, performance data, and modern marketing practices to define positioning, launch strategy, enablement standards, and scalable go-to-market frameworks. This role requires a senior product marketing leader who can set direction, influence cross-functional decisions, translate complex healthcare technology into compelling business value, manage and develop a small team, and oversee assigned product marketing budgets, vendor spend, and related resource planning.
Responsibilities
- Owns product marketing strategy, positioning, messaging, value propositions, and go-to-market plans for a defined portfolio of healthcare SaaS solutions
- Leads the development of differentiated product narratives, supporting proof points, and executive-ready messaging frameworks that articulate customer challenges, product benefits, competitive differentiation, and measurable business value
- Translates complex product capabilities, technical concepts, regulatory considerations, and market dynamics into clear, customer-focused stories for business, clinical, operational, and executive audiences
- Defines and governs messaging standards across buyer personas, market segments, use cases, product lines, and stages of the customer journey
- Leads cross-functional go-to-market planning for new products, capabilities, enhancements, strategic initiatives, and portfolio priorities, including launch plans, readiness milestones, decision points, success measures, and post-launch feedback loops
- Directs the creation and ongoing improvement of sales enablement materials, including brochures, battlecards, pitch decks, sales sheets, FAQs, case studies, talk tracks, demo scripts, objection-handling guidance, and executive briefing materials
- Partners with Sales and Sales Enablement to identify field needs, improve commercial readiness, and equip teams for effective customer conversations
- Leads market, customer, buyer, competitive, product performance, adoption, and voice-of-customer research to identify trends, unmet needs, positioning opportunities, risks, launch considerations, and product marketing priorities
- Collaborates with content, communications, creative, digital marketing, demand generation, product management, customer success, legal, compliance, clinical, and executive stakeholders to ensure consistent product messaging and coordinated execution
- Builds scalable product marketing processes, templates, governance practices, and operating rhythms that improve quality, consistency, speed, and cross-functional alignment
- Manages, coaches, develops, and provides work direction to 1–2 product marketing associates, including prioritization, performance feedback, workload management, and professional development
- Oversees assigned product marketing budgets, vendor relationships, campaign or launch-related spend, and resource allocation to ensure investments align with business priorities and approved financial parameters
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced ability to develop product marketing strategy, positioning, messaging, value propositions, launch plans, enablement strategies, and go-to-market frameworks for complex business-to-business solutions
- Exceptional executive communication, writing, editing, presentation, storytelling, and stakeholder-influence skills
- Ability to synthesize complex technical, operational, clinical, regulatory, customer, and commercial information into clear market narratives and decision-ready recommendations
- Strong strategic planning, prioritization, program management, and change management skills, with the ability to lead multiple high-visibility initiatives across stakeholders and deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Product Management, Sales, Client Success, Marketing, Communications, Legal, Compliance, Clinical, and executive stakeholders
- Strong understanding of market research, buyer insights, competitive analysis, voice-of-customer methods, product adoption metrics, and commercial performance indicators
- Ability to establish scalable processes, quality standards, governance practices, and reusable tools that improve product marketing effectiveness
- Ability to manage a small team, set priorities, provide coaching and feedback, support performance management, and develop team capabilities
- Ability to manage assigned budgets, evaluate vendor spend, plan resources, and make financially responsible recommendations that support product marketing priorities
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Deep domain understanding and experience in healthcare SaaS, payer technology, health plan, healthcare administration, or regulated business-to-business environments
- Familiarity with SaaS business metrics, including recurring revenue, retention, churn, expansion, product adoption, customer lifetime value, pipeline influence, and revenue attribution
- Skilled in using marketing automation, customer relationship management, analytics, product usage, competitive intelligence, or voice-of-customer platforms to inform go-to-market decisions
- Experience with pricing, packaging, product portfolio strategy, market segmentation, product-led growth, digital adoption, or customer expansion models
- Ability to leverage AI-enabled tools to support market research, content optimization, competitive analysis, personalization, launch readiness, and marketing workflow efficiency
- Ability to lead, coach, and develop a team while influencing cross-functional project teams without relying solely on formal authority
Experience:
- 8 years of experience in product marketing, go-to-market strategy, product strategy, B2B marketing, solutions marketing, sales enablement, or a related discipline
- 5 years of experience marketing complex technology, software, data, consulting, or professional services offerings
- 5 years of experience developing product positioning, messaging, value propositions, launch plans, sales enablement content, or executive-ready product narratives
- 5 years of experience applying market, customer, buyer, competitive, product adoption, or voice-of-customer research to inform product marketing or go-to-market decisions
- 5 years of experience partnering with cross-functional teams such as Product, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Legal, Compliance, Clinical, or executive stakeholders
- 3 years of experience leading strategic product launches, portfolio-level go-to-market initiatives, product marketing workstreams, or cross-functional programs
- 2 years of experience managing, coaching, or providing formal people leadership to direct reports or product marketing contributors
- 2 years of experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, resource planning, campaign spend, launch spend, or related marketing investments
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in healthcare SaaS, payer technology, health plan, healthcare administration, or other regulated business-to-business environments
- Experience supporting product-led growth, digital adoption, customer retention, expansion, portfolio growth, or revenue growth initiatives
- Experience developing win/loss insights, competitive intelligence programs, sales enablement playbooks, battlecards, objection-handling materials, or customer proof strategies
- Experience building or leading a small product marketing team, including hiring support, onboarding, coaching, workload planning, performance feedback, and capability development
Required Training, Certification and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
Preferred Training, Certification and Education:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- Relevant certification in product marketing, healthcare, SaaS, digital marketing, analytics, or AI-enabled marketing tools
Working Conditions:
- Remote Home Office
- Ability to work at workstation for 8 hours
- Travel occasionally (~2X) a year to Atlanta for team meetings
