ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters, and the impact of climate change. Around 20,000 people work for the organization, most of them in remote areas, directly serving the hungry poor.
To reach a world with zero hunger, WFP is investing in and growing private sector fundraising and partnerships. ShareTheMeal is WFP’s fundraising and awareness-raising app. Free to download, the award-winning app is a pioneering way for people to join our efforts in creating a world with zero hunger. ShareTheMeal currently has more than 1.3 million supporters worldwide, who have shared more than 185 million meals (US$ 100 million).
WFP is pursuing an ambitious growth strategy for individual giving, and ShareTheMeal is a key driver for this strategy going forward. The team, located remotely, is focused on increasing the funds raised to help get to zero hunger by further developing the app to include new and innovative features, increasing the engagement of existing users and growing the user base through marketing and communication initiatives. As the user base has grown, there is a significant opportunity to increase funds raised from existing users and deliver an exceptional experience to build a long-term relationship with each supporter.
PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
The Consultant, reporting to the ShareTheMeal Global Content Strategy & Operations Manager, is expected to:
• Manage translator team including correspondence, engagement and onboardings.
• Manage ShareTheMeal’ s localization platform including collaboration between translations and internal team, ensuring all copy is correctly translated and updated and implementing any corresponding process improvements.
• Prepare and implement content for the app and website using CMS and localization management platform.
• Work closely with the CRM Manager in the creation of emails, push notifications and in-app campaigns.
• Support the analysis and reporting of CRM campaigns and provide recommendations to optimize performance based on results.
• Conduct customer support activities and develop process improvements.
• Support other workstreams as needed.
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
• Created effective content for ShareTheMeal, improving engagement and conversion through ongoing optimization.
• Contributed to content strategy and content standards.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education
■ Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree is preferred
Work history
■ 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably i n digital content production, copywriting, communications, or similar. Experience creating content for a mobile app is an advantage.
Technical expertise
■ Strong writing skills and attention to detail
■ Essential computer skills in Microsoft Office applications: proficiency Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
■ Proven ability to conceptualize, plan, manage, develop, and monitor processes.
■ Excellent understanding of global issues and an ability to translate WFP’s mission
Soft skills
■ Highly organized with exceptional planning skills to deliver on commitments.
■ Outstanding analytical, negotiation and advocacy skills
■ Ability to think creatively and strategically.
■ Excellent communicator with ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across different cultures, disciplines, and time zones.
■ Willingness to be adaptable and ‘roll your sleeves up’ to get the work done across a small team with big ambitions.
■ People-oriented, uses tact and courtesy to give and receive information with a variety of individuals.
■ Motivated team spirit and contributed to a gender-balanced, inclusive, and sound working environment.

Language(s)
■ Excellent command of spoken and written English
■ Intermediate knowledge of another official UN language would be a plus (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish).
