Job Description
A remote Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, recording daily transactions, and supporting financial reporting to ensure the company’s financial health and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to manage financial data efficiently in a remote environment. While your duties will depend on the specific needs of your client, they will include, but not be limited to:
- Record and categorize daily financial transactions including purchases, sales, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
- Maintain and reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts on a regular basis.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accurate classification of financial transactions.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
- Monitor expenses and identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data.
- Organize and maintain financial records and supporting documentation in a structured and secure manner.
- Collaborate with accountants or external auditors during financial reviews or audits.
- Support process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in bookkeeping operations.
Requirements
- 2+ years of proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
Technical Requirements
- Processor: Intel 11th Gen (or AMD Ryzen 5000 series) for Windows | M2 for Macs.
- RAM: 16 GB minimum.
- Internet: Stable connection of 50 Mbps minimum.
