We are a leading General Contractor in the Construction industry seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Assistant Controller to join our team. This role is mostly remote, providing the flexibility to work from the comfort of your home while also having the opportunity to collaborate with our team in person when needed. We are looking for a finance professional who is excited to take on a leading role in managing our financial operations and contributing to our company's financial health. This position requires 5+ years of experience and proficiency in annual budgeting.

Responsibilities:

1. Assisting in the preparation and management of the company's annual budget.
2. Overseeing financial transactions and reporting, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with relevant laws and standards.
3. Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
4. Working closely with the Controller to develop financial strategies and make recommendations to the management team.
5. Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
6. Ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
7. Participating in the development of strategic financial objectives for the company.
8. Assisting in the management of the company's cash flow and forecasting.
9. Collaborating with other departments to streamline processes, improve financial reporting, and assist with strategic planning.
10. Participating in the preparation for annual audits.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Engineering or Construction industry.
3. Proven experience in managing an annual budget.
4. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
5. Excellent financial reporting skills, with a keen eye for accuracy and detail.
6. Proficiency in using financial software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
7. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
11. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
12. A proactive approach to work, with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative.
