Healthcare Marketing | Full-time W-2 | Remote, U.S. (Nashville or Chattanooga based preferred)

About Clearstart

Clearstart is a holistic marketing partner built for healthcare companies navigating critical inflection points.

Marketing is at the core of what we do. We bring senior strategy and hands-on execution together in one connected team - helping healthcare companies build momentum, generate demand, and turn strategy into action.

Because growth rarely happens in a marketing silo, we can also bring in expertise across positioning, brand, web, GTM strategy, sales infrastructure, and the broader commercial organization, solving for the bigger picture without requiring clients to manage a collection of disconnected partners.

We plug in based on what a company needs. Serving as an embedded marketing team, providing senior leadership and strategy, adding execution capacity, or leading focused initiatives like a brand repositioning or website transformation.

We partner with select digital health companies, PE-backed care platforms, healthcare organizations, and payers navigating growth and change. Having sat in the CMO, CRO, and COO seats ourselves, we understand the challenges firsthand - from entering new markets and accelerating demand to repositioning for growth and preparing for what’s next. We built Clearstart to be the team we always wished we had: senior operators working together, accountable to outcomes, and embedded enough to drive meaningful change.

The Opportunity

You already know how to lead executive healthcare clients and judge what strong marketing looks like. At Clearstart, you will have the authority to make the call and a connected team to carry it out.

Work in Healthcare and Digital Health

Clearstart helps B2B, B2B2C digital health and B2C healthcare companies navigate critical growth and transformation points - from establishing market fit to scaling, expanding, and repositioning. You will lead growth-stage and PE-backed clients working through stalled pipelines, long sales cycles, new markets, repositioning, and funding milestones.

While we work in one industry, you’ll need to understand the landscape, learning the buyers, buying cycles, and patterns across the portfolio instead of starting over with every new client.

A Team Around You

You will lead a multidisciplinary marketing execution team and have access to shared creative resources and senior healthcare fCMOs when an account needs them. Your role is to set direction, create clarity, coach the team, and ensure the right work gets done by the right person at the right quality.

When a deadline slips or work misses the mark, your job is to coach the owner, solve the underlying issue, and strengthen how the team works - not to take every task back and do it yourself.

Build the System You Lead

Clearstart has an established delivery model, but there is room for you to improve how the team reviews accounts, checks work, manages capacity, and solves problems each week.

Hope Del Santo, COO, and Ashley Kent, CEO & Founder, will work with you through your first 90 days. Ashley will share the calls she makes today and why. You will help strengthen those processes with both leaders, then lead them consistently.

About the Role

Lead a portfolio of healthcare accounts and the team supporting them so clients receive strategically sound, high-quality marketing without you becoming the person doing every task. You will keep clients moving, translate strategy into execution, coach the team, and maintain healthy scope, priorities, and delivery.

What You'll Own

  1. The client relationship. Serve as the senior day-to-day owner of your accounts and a trusted partner to client leaders.
    • Lead client communication, recurring meetings, decisions, follow-ups, renewals, escalations, and at-risk relationships.
    • Ensure clients know what is happening, what comes next, and where their input or decision is needed.
  2. Strategy translated into execution. Turn strategic direction into a clear, prioritized account plan the team can execute.
    • Pressure-test whether the work is aligned to the strategy, appropriate for the audience, and likely to move the business forward.
    • Adjust priorities when client needs, performance, or available capacity change.
  3. Quality of the work. Make the final call on whether client work meets Clearstart's standards.
    • Review and approve client deliverables, giving clear feedback that improves both the work and the team's judgment.
    • As the team consistently demonstrates the standard, shift from reviewing everything to using thoughtful spot checks.
  4. Team leadership and delivery. Set priorities, clarify ownership, remove blockers, and hold the team accountable for strong execution
    • Manage timelines and delivery expectations across multiple accounts without losing context, quality, or momentum.
    • Coach team members across disciplines while keeping accountability with the person who owns the work.
  5. Scope, hours, and account health. Keep work aligned to agreed priorities and available resources.
    • Monitor account hours and team capacity, identify risks early, and rebalance work when needed.
    • Recognize out-of-scope requests, recommend the right path, and communicate scope or cost implications before work begins.
    • Own the overall health of the account, including client confidence, performance, priorities, and delivery.
  6. Reporting, insight, and marketing best practices. Help clients understand what the work is accomplishing and what should happen next.
    • Turn reporting into a clear story with context, implications, and recommendations - not a recap of numbers.
    • Stay current on healthcare and B2B/B2C marketing trends and bring relevant ideas and best practices into client work.

How You'll Know You're Succeeding

  • Clients are making progress against the goals and priorities agreed to for their accounts.
  • Clients see you as a trusted marketing leader, understand what is happening, and remain confident in the partnership.
  • Work is strategically sound, consistently meets Clearstart's quality bar, and is delivered on time.
  • The team has clear priorities, ownership, and feedback - and can produce strong work without you taking production back.
  • Account hours, scope, and capacity are managed proactively, with risks and tradeoffs addressed before they become problems.

Who You Are

You are someone who:

  • Naturally takes ownership of the client relationship, priorities, work, and outcomes.
  • Knows what strong marketing looks like and can confidently assess whether work is strategically sound and well executed.
  • Is a clear, credible communicator who can lead executive conversations and make a thoughtful call under pressure.
  • Sees around corners, catches risks early, and takes action before being asked.
  • Can direct, coach, and hold others accountable without becoming the default owner of every task.
  • Can move quickly among client escalations, campaign reviews, planning, and coaching while understanding what matters in each situation.
  • Balances empathy with candor and is comfortable having hard conversations about scope, priorities, performance, or renewals.

What You Bring

  • 5-8+ years of marketing experience, with broad knowledge across major B2B & B2B2C marketing channels and buyer journeys.
  • Meaningful B2B & B2B2C healthcare and digital health experience; agency experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading multiple client or stakeholder relationships, including conversations with founders, CMOs, CROs, or other executives.
  • Strong judgment across marketing strategy, briefs, campaigns, content, reporting, and client-ready deliverables.
  • Experience leading and coaching multidisciplinary teams while operating independently with limited oversight.
  • The ability to manage scope, hours, capacity, and account health responsibly.

You'll Probably Recognize Yourself Here

  • A client brings you a messy marketing request, and you know how to clarify the need, determine the right next step, and find the answer - even if you do not have it on the spot.
  • You can spot the client risk, weak marketing output, capacity issue, or misaligned tactic before it turns into a larger delivery problem.
  • You care about the client experience and the quality of the work equally, and you know how to strengthen both through the team.
  • Bonus: you have led work for growth-stage, PE-backed, provider, payer, or digital health companies.

P.S. from Ashley

I don't want to hire quickly just to get someone in the door. I've done that before, and it cost us. This work matters too much.

Our clients usually come to us because something is messy. The pipeline stalled, the team isn't aligned, or the plan looked good on paper and isn't moving. That's why they hired us.

I need someone who can get into that situation, find the real problem, make a clear call, and help good people do better work.

You won't wait for me to translate every decision. You'll know when to pull me or Hope (COO) in, and you'll know when the decision is yours. You'll care about the client, the team, and the work at the same time.

If that sounds like the work you already do, we’d like to meet you.
