Summary:

We are seeking a growth-oriented, data-driven, highly analytical and detail-oriented VP of Financial Planning and Analysis to support a contract role.  The VP of FP&A will be a key business partner to support the customer CFO and senior executives, as well as Business Development to drive financial performance, ensure compliance with government contracting requirements, and support long-term growth initiatives.  The VP will lead enterprise-wide financial planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis efforts within a highly regulated Aerospace & Defense (A&D) environment.  The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in program finance, government contracts (e.g., FAR/DFARS), and complex project-based accounting.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the customer FP&A team, developing complex financial reporting models, consolidations, and performance reporting frameworks, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Support the annual budget process (AOP) and interim forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Responsible for updating the monthly operating review presentation and quarterly BoD presentation with all supporting financial information including KPIs
  • Responsible for enhancing certain finance, accounting functions and processes, as assigned (e.g. month-end close).
  • Support documentation and control of key processes throughout the finance organization.
  • Assist in pricing, rate, and bid reviews and process to ensure they are financially sound and competitive.
  • Support stand-up and/or integration of new business units/product lines/facilities/acquisitions.
  • Implement new forecasting, consolidation, and reporting tools and lead integrations with CRM, ERP, and other business systems.
  • Support the CFO with cash management and forecasting.
  • Implement and manage corporate and shared services allocations across businesses and ensure compliance with GovCon regulations.
  • Partner with the management team and operations to improve operational efficiency, margin, and cash flow.
  • Participate in the strategic planning process, ensuring plans align with long-term financial goals of the platform.
  • Provide due diligence and support to the CFO for potential acquisitions, including data collection and financial modeling.
  • Other process and reporting duties, as required and assigned.



Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting. MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 10-15 years of progressive Aerospace and Defense manufacturing experience in FP&A and project finance with at least 5 years of leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, FAR, DFAR and CAS.
  • DCAA and DCMA experience including implementing and maintaining CAS Disclosure Statements, ICP, FPRA packages, and provisional billing rates.
  • Complete understanding of financial statements, cash flow management, and operational metrics.
  • Operates with a sense of urgency and possesses a passion for forecasting and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement sophisticated financial models, scenario analyses, and business intelligence tools.
  • M&A due diligence and transition experience a plus.
  • Strong communicator, adaptable, and relationship builder experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to pivot and successfully adapt in a constantly changing environment.
  • S. Citizen and ability to obtain a secret clearance.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
