In this Exciting Opportunity, You Will:
Lead, develop, and manage underwriting staff through training, coaching, performance management, staffing decisions, workload allocation, and ongoing direction.
Oversee underwriting operations, maintain workflow expertise, assist with business processing as needed, and support departmental staffing during absences or peak workloads.
Evaluate underwriting information, make final underwriting determinations, and prepare and process policies and endorsements.
Support business unit initiatives by gathering and evaluating information, planning and implementing processes and systems, and promoting strategic projects, including ProAgWorks implementation and training.
Develop, maintain, and interpret underwriting guidelines, FCIC documentation, and Underwriting Manual (TOPE) standards to ensure consistency and compliance.
Analyze policy data, support FCIC error resolution efforts, monitor underwriting quality metrics, and manage reporting activities.
Serve as a subject matter expert by responding to complex inquiries and providing underwriting support to agents, policyholders, applicants, account representatives, clients, and underwriters.
Collaborate with Sales, Claims, Compliance, Accounting, and other business partners to resolve issues, communicate underwriting policies, and support customer service excellence.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
What You Bring
A minimum of six years of relevant and progressive professional experience within underwriting.
Previous agriculture or crop insurance industry experience.
A bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, or a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience.
Possess the ability to apply knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of underwriting in day-to-day and strategic work.
Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company's business to proactively respond to changing business environment.

Pay Transparency
The pay range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000, which includes geographic adjustments, where applicable. The pay range is the range THMCC, in good faith, believes is the range of compensation for this role at the time of this posting. The hired applicant will be offered pay within the entire range based on the candidate’s geographic location, qualifications, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
