RESPONSIBILIITES: 

• Represent SCP Health in the core values, in operational leadership and in a hospital setting while striving for innovation, efficiencies and strengthening relationships.
• The SVP, Anesthesia APP duties shall include and require a necessary focus and aptitude (with necessary support from appointed corporate resources) in the following areas:

Patient Care

APP Leadership Clinical Leadership of CRNAs and Anesthesia APPs Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Benchmarking Participation in teaching/education initiatives

Client Relationships

Foster and support of client goals Actively support Employer efforts to maintain a position as a leader in the fields of Anesthesia Practice Management Identify and execute on opportunities for practice growth and development Establish highly effective partnership relationships with client hospital representatives Attention to and participation in Affiliated Hospital process improvement initiatives Establishment of shared goals with physicians and Affiliated Hospital representatives Responsible for appropriate selection and supervision of Regional Directors, Anesthesia APP Proactive in all problem avoidance initiatives Participation in client consulting initiatives

Business and Administrative 

Maintain awareness and basic understanding of the financial (revenue and margin) implications of clinical operations of assigned facilities Cooperation and effective and timely communication with corporate personnel Attention to and cooperation with Employer’ process improvement initiatives Support and participation in Information Technology initiatives

• SVP, Anesthesia APP shall, on an interval or case-by-case basis, be available to assist the assigned Client Service Team leadership team in the intervention and improvement of relationships at troubled client relationships. Such involvement shall be at the mutual agreement of the SVP and the Client Service Team leadership team in amounts not to interfere with his/her other base responsibilities.

Other Duties

Monitor APP performance

• Clinical skills
• Medical Records Completion
• Provide regular feedback to Regional Directors, Anesthesia APP on performance and offer coaching as needed
• Orientation and mentoring of new Regional Directors, Anesthesia APP and CRNAs
• Compliance with applicable Hospital standards
• Assist with Review and Implementation of Medical Records Requirements
• Patient Satisfaction and complaint resolution
• Attention to patient throughput, and other operational efficiency indicators; offering and discussing issues and solutions with Group Medical Officer
• Participate in Provider Risk Reviews
• Work with other providers, in conjunction with the Corporation, to maintain and improve acceptable standards

Monitor and supervise department functions

• Acts as a liaison with the Affiliated Hospital medical staff, administration, and hospital department staff to assure support of department
• Advise/assist with Recruiting/Credentialing and Retention of qualified CRNAs and Anesthesia APPs
• Advise on Billing/Reimbursement problems/issues

Participate in Quality Assessment Processes

• Trend results of reviews; by APPs and providers, and by general trends. Follow up variances with Regional Directors, Anesthesia APP or other corporate representatives
• Participate in CQI process by coordinating study/review with nursing and other multi-disciplinary studies as coordinated with corporate staff and Regional Directors, Anesthesia APP
• Review and be familiar with hospital department policies and procedures relevant to the hospital department APPs, particularly regarding legal issues and regulatory requirements
• Contribute to or assist with education of hospital department staff and APPs
  
                                             

Provide effective leadership and management to insure optimal performance of assigned facilities

• Lead and manage to achieve top clinical quality performance from the APPs
• Achieve high performing metrics that correlate with best clinical practices
• Develop fully staffed APP groups, each with an established high performing Regional Director, Anesthesia APP, at each Affiliated Hospital
• Effective and efficient provider scheduling practices/procedures and performing within established performance benchmarks
• Effective, efficient, and timely Provider Orientation and clinical documentation practices
• Dashboard Completion meets or exceeds Employer’ requirements
• Dashboard Quality Score meet or exceeds established performance benchmarks
• Patient Satisfaction meets/exceeds goals as established by client
• Client Satisfaction meets or exceeds Employer’ goals
• Contract Retention meets or exceeds Employer’ goals
• Understanding of and compliance with margin budget goals
• Support and participation in provider cost management
• Additional Pay within budgeted parameters
• Chart management processes (including deficiencies) meets or exceeds established performance benchmarks

Reporting Relationships

• SVP, Anesthesia APP role reports to the President
• Coordinating responsibility with the Regional Directors, Anesthesia APP; SVP Anesthesia Medicine Chief Clinical Officer; SVP Anesthesia Operations; and the corporate executive team

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Adherence to and the promotion of the corporate Mission Statement
• Successful renewal and retention of Affiliated Hospital relationships
• Quality of relationships with Affiliated Hospitals, Regional Directors Anesthesia APP, providers, and corporate personnel
• Achievement of Quality, Operational and Financial targets as set by Employer’s Executive and Senior Leaderships
• Responsibility for proper use and disclosure of confidential information

Education

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nurse Anesthesia (or equivalent Advanced Practice Provider program), required

Certificates and Licenses

• Current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)
• Valid, unrestricted state APP/CRNA license

Work Experience/Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted APP licensure in applicable state(s) and national certification or recertification in good standing
• Maintain certification for participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs
• Adhere to any and all of Employer’ policies and procedures of which Physician/APP shall be afforded due notice
• Maintain authorization by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration for a state of practice to dispense controlled substances
• Ability to procure other state APP/CRNA licenses as needed, indicated or directed
• Significant prior experience in anesthesia APP clinical leadership, with a track record of managing multi-site CRNA teams preferred

PRIMARY LOCATION:  Remote - Texas

Pay Range:

This range represents the anticipated base salary for this role. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
