AI Summary

You will own the product strategy, roadmap, and operational stability for DataMesh while leading the migration path toward relational data capabilities. You will also conduct customer discovery and collaborate with engineering, design, and GTM teams to ensure successful feature delivery and adoption.

For over 20 years, Smartsheet has empowered teams to manage work seamlessly and scale solutions smarter. Now, in our most ambitious chapter yet, we are uniting human teams with AI agents. By orchestrating the work agents do best, automating manual tasks and uncovering insights at scale, we create the space for people to focus on what truly matters: judgment, creativity, and big thinking. That is magic at work, and it’s what we show up for every day.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own DataMesh, one of Smartsheet’s most widely used cross-sheet data capabilities and a critical part of how enterprise customers build and run their solutions today. DataMesh sits at the centre of a multi-year shift in Smartsheet’s data model, as we evolve towards column links and, ultimately, relational data capabilities.

You Will:

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for DataMesh, balancing near-term stability and customer needs against the longer-term migration strategy
  • Own the operational stability and serviceability of DataMesh, partnering with engineering and Support to prioritise defects, performance issues, and escalations
  • Shape and execute the migration path from DataMesh to column links, working closely with the Data Links PM on feature parity, the advanced column links roadmap, and report-as-a-source as a critical dependency
  • Lead customer and user discovery with enterprise personas (work admins, solution builders, system administrators, and power users) to understand how DataMesh is used in practice, identify migration blockers, and validate decisions before they ship
  • Partner with Customer Success and GTM to plan communications, enablement, and migration support for enterprise accounts that depend on DataMesh
  • Work with one or more engineering squads, navigating dependencies and making clear scoping and sequencing decisions across a complex, interconnected backlog
  • Author clear product briefs, requirements docs, and feature specs that design and engineering can execute on without ambiguity
  • Define success metrics for everything you ship, including DataMesh usage, migration progress, and quality indicators, and partner with data and analytics teams on instrumentation and reporting
  • Represent DataMesh in leadership reviews, WBRs, and customer conversations, including enterprise account engagements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

You Have:

  • 4+ years of product management experience delivering features within enterprise SaaS or B2B software products
  • Experience with data management, data modelling, workflow automation, platform integrations, or cross-sheet data referencing is a strong plus
  • Experience managing a mature product through sustain, deprecation, or migration phases is a plus
  • Strong customer instincts: you can run structured discovery, synthesise customer feedback, and turn it into well-scoped, validated product decisions
  • A track record of writing product briefs, requirements docs, and specs that engineering and design can act on without ambiguity
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, design, GTM, and Customer Success
  • Comfort working with engineering teams across time zones, including stakeholders in North America
  • A data-driven mindset: you define adoption and quality metrics before you ship and use post-launch data to guide iteration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including confidence presenting in leadership reviews and speaking directly with enterprise customers
  • Familiarity with API-driven product development or working alongside platform engineering teams is a plus
  • Legally eligible to work in India on an ongoing basis
  • Fluency in English is required
